I'm on day 4 post op and I'm hungry! How is that? I thought hunger would not find me for awhile. I know it's just not head hunger as I went to bed and woke up feeling this way. My stomach is even growling. I had my first Protein Drink which went down fine from 8-9, now it's 10 and I'm hungry. Anyone else experience this?

Thanks

I did not feel hunger but I did experience rumbling and some burning but it felt different to me then hunger pangs.

I also experienced this today for the first time. I think it's normal. It's been 5 days. I just want to eat something. Everything caters to sweets and I want something crunchy and salty. broth is not the answer. But this period of time is short and it will benefit us greatly. We just have to pull through!

Everyone what you are experiencing is head hunger. Your brain wants what it used to have. It will do anything to get it. After you surgery your nerve ending have not healed enough to signal hunger. Please make sure you are sticking to the diet at all times. You will get though this awful stage of liquids and start eating normal food again I promise!

Yes but like one member said, your pouch wants Water or liquids and it will give you a hungry feeling. I took her advice and drank and that feeling goes away

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
