It seems everyone has left side pain if any. I'm 9 days post op and my pain in the right side is increasing. It wasn't even there in the beginning. It's like a tight pain that starts beneath my rib cage and can spread to the flank area. I saw the PA at my surgeons office yesterday and she said it was "induration" aka angry tissue. I'm not sure I'm buying that. It's probably nothing but it would be nice to know I'm not the only to experience this sort of post op pain.

I've been pretty regular. I'm gonna treat is like a pulled muscle for a few days. I took a flexeril before bed. It's still there but will keep at it throughout today. If it gets worse I'll go in.

Hi Sherri, do you have the pain all the time or is it just after you drink something? It can also be gas pains.

It started off intermittently but has become constant since yesterday. I went back to the dr today and they are sending me for a CT scan. Hopefully I'll get that today but I'm starting to wonder. It's not gas. I took a muscle relaxer last night and it made no difference so I don't think it's a pulled muscle. I'm at the point I can hardly sit or drive. Doc said they had to remove some of my stomach due to a previous surgery and that's the hole they pulled it from. Either it's an incisional hernia or angry nerves. I can deal with it but I just want to know.

Possibly gallbladder. Just had mine removed Wednesday this week. My symptoms were back , shoulder, pain , pulled muscle feeling &chest pain w/shortness of breath like heart attack symptoms &feeling nausea after eating &lower back pain it comes up suddenly & my1st attack lasted 2 1/2weeks. Talk to your dr in depth if you get theses symptoms. Mine started about 3 1/2 months post op.

My gallbladder was removed in 2005. I'm still waiting for the CT auth from my damn insurance company. I have a good mind to go to the ER just to make them pay a higher bill but I'm not unless it gets worse. My doc told me there was an internal stitch there since the opening is so large. In the past I've had trouble with stitches, Hopefully I'm just irritated and it will calm down.

I was having pain on the left. Two trips to the ER and a hospital stay so far. I am having issue with my kidney. They don't see stones but they don't know if it passed and caused an infection

Chris G-Hopefully you will get some answers and feel better soon.

Well mine was finally diagnosed. It is an entrapped nerve due to swelling and the stitch. I received an ultrasound guided cortisone shot and it's all better now. Hopefully that will be the end of it.

Yes for the most part. It seems to only flare up tomorrow. There is a slight chance I will have to be knocked out and a stitch removed. I should know Monday but I think it's gonna be okay. It's a lap incision but about an inch wide and they had to pull out some of my stomach through there and it's just has everything irritated. No I didn't have the sleeve but I had a Nissen (reflux surgery) in 2005 and when they take it down they have to remove the part of your stomach that was wrapped around the esophagus. Blah, blah, blah....It's always something....

Let me know if you get your stuff resolved CrisG....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
