My husband and I have started the sleeve process. We have BCN and have to wait out the 6 months. My husband thinks that we should have the surgery around the same time.

My question is:

For those of you who have had the sleeve, do you think having the surgery within hours/days of each other is a good thing to do? How long was it before you started feeling better? He thinks we can be on the same eating schedule and that will allow us to help each other.

Thanks for any advice!

It depends. Do you have young children at home who depend upon you for their care? If you do, then I wouldn't recommend if unless you have someone who can help provide for their needs while you recover. Otherwise, if it is just the two of you, or your kids are older, I would say go for it. You will be a great support system for one another and it will definitely be easier if you are both at the same stage of eating as well.

Hello & welcome to the process. I think it depends on the person, some people do awesome with minimal pain and hardly any issues. But I was very nauseas and gassy. My first few days was hard and I was very glad someone was able to take care of me. After the first few days everything else was pretty easy. My surgery was 10/30 and I've lost 34 lbs to date. I'm doing well with the exception of having a very hard time getting my Protein in. It's so yucky to me now where it wasn't pre-op. So I'm trying other things.

I think you and you hubby will be ok after the1st week or so as long as there are no complications.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
