Less than 2 weeks until I am finally going to be banded! I'm so psyched and just ready to get the ball rolling. I am the most impatient person in this world. I have no idea how to get through these next few days! Also, still super nervous for surgery!!!

You'll have to learn patience. It's going to take more throughout the journey, but you got this.

Twelve days may seem like bags of time but if you take this time to prepare for band life by reading, researching, shopping for what you will need after your surgery, the time will go pretty quickly. I found that it flew by, especially when I was sitting in the pre op prep area the morning of my surgery! :D

It'll be here in NO time!! I remember feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas morning! Of course, the week prior seemed like the longest week of my life! Now, I'm already just shy of being a year out, and I can't help but think "where did the time go"?!

Wishing you much success on your journey! Good luck!

Best thing I ever did for myself. I have been controlled by food my whole life. Now I eat to fuel my body... I can ENJOY a nice dinner with my husband... and even have a little treat now and then and still feel good about myself.

congratulations and good luck on your journey... (sometimes it really sucks :) )

Seems everyone is doing great. I got banded Dec. 2007, lost 100 lbs in 6 mos....kept it off a while and over the past 4 years gained 28 lbs. I started at 250, went down to 150 and now at 178. Just learned my band has slipped bad and had my band drained. I have to start all over and have band fixed. But I am excited and at the same time realize that even though I thought I wasn't doing so bad, I really was doing harm to my band causing all the reflux and slipage. I need to learn to seat SLOWLY.

Hi Wendy, congratulations on your upcoming date! I was glad I stepped up exercise prior to my surgery -- it gave me something to do with that nervous energy and also helped create a routine for me. Once banded I started walking in the hospital because I felt like a walker -- my body wanted that. I am sure it helped with the healing. So walk now if you can -- keep adding a little more -- pretend you're making time speed up the more you walk and pretty soon your big day will be here!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
