Well, I just got home from the ER, all these months without one complication and now twice in month I have been dehydrated. This second time I actually passed out and collapsed in the bathroom. I thought I had my liquids under good control but apparently not. I would really like to know some secrets from you all as to what you do to ensure that you are getting in the right amount of liquid every day to preclude this condition.

Thanks, Mark

Keep a log of how much Water your drinking so you are sure to hit your goals

Try to have a small drink of Water every hour. Every time I notice the time I take a sip of water. Another thing you can do it drink from a bottle of water and set a goal to drink a certain number of bottle water a day, that way you keep up with how much you are taking in. Best to you!

Keep a bottle of Water with you at all times. Duck-tape it to your hands, if you have to...

The more 'visual' reminders you get, the more likely you are not to 'forget' to drink...

I do good at work. I keep a bottle of Water on my desk all day. At home is where I get busy and forget to drink.

Get some G2 Gatorade and drink some every day..I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water...And after a year out I still drink it every day...Vitamin Water too is great...

I think I am going to insist on Gatorade giving me some stocks or something...lol

No kidding really it works!

I'm with RJ. The G2 is really great for me. I "like" the grape flavor best. The electrolytes seem to really help keeping things on track.

The other things is that maybe you can take some time now to make more liquid choices as much as you can. Soups instead of Entrees, etc.

I drink from the same kind of water bottle every day I know I have to drink 3 of them. I also know I have to drink at least one before I leave the gym every morning. It is just a concentrated effort every day. I do the 1/2 g2 1/2 Water combo as well as Mio energy

I'm 18 days out and was in ER on day 11 for dehydration which the docs initially thought was pancreatitis based on lab reports i guess although no fever normal blood pressure and normal oxygen .. I did have low blood sugar

I'm still incredibly weak and can barely get fluids in due to hiatal hernia pain and pressure

I feel like I will end up in ER again soon cause every time I stand up I feel like I will pass out. I also get light headed and warm at times

It's been tough but keeping hydrated is a full time job for me now and soooo hard to do cause of the pain. I used to drink more than half my weight in ounces prior to VSG & hernia repair daily. I'm a rare plain Water lover so it sucks to be and feel dehydrated all the time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
