December Fitness Challenge

Recommended Posts

Monday morning check in...I am at 31.75 miles so far for the month. I didn't get much this weekend with all the family activities we had going on so time to step it up. Good thing is, I picked up a fitness station at a garage sale Saturday for $30, that was fun moving that monster. Garage is looking like my personal gym now...lol Keep up the great work everyone and go grab this week and kick it in the teeth!

I love your new profile pic! Your face is getting skinny. WTG!

And according to my Loseit app burned about 700 calories! It was sooooo much easier for me than the last time I shoveled any significant amount of snow. Didn't bother my lower back at all!

It's all that nekkid planking you've been doing. Thank goodness you don't shovel snow in the same outfit. Or do you?

Haha...it hurts getting the body back into motion. Especially after a break. Before you know it you'll be in beast mode again. RAAAWWRRRR

Day 7 Insanity - I am definitely capable of doing more than on day 1, but it is still brutal! I am recovering more quickly though, walking away from the gym halfway to my hut, there is a short bit of stairs - the first few days I had to use the handrail because I thought I would fall down the stairs I was so Jello and now I don't need it.

No miles today, but I did get a 45 s plank done.

What type of exercise is the plank?

I'm just joining the group so I will do 30 min a day on stationary bike and 30 min of treadmill a day and 30 min walking outside. Haven't been exercising at all. Need this motivation especially this time of year. I will check back later. Good luck to all of us!

I just learned of this thread, so I need to catch up! Here are my goals:

30 minutes a day on the stairmaster six days a week and resistance workout an hour a day six days a week.

That's alot of working out. Nice goals.

I had a nice 7.5 mile run today putting me up to 30.8 MTD. And I added a pawltry 20 lunges to my total..bringing that to 140.

I'm barely on pace to reach my running goal. Way ahead of pace to reach my swimming goal...I may shoot for 10,000 meters....but I'm way behind on my lunges goal. I'm telling you, those lunges suck. They are cruel and unusual punishment.

I'm almost on pace to reach my running

UH OH! I'm going to miss my regular workout today. :( :( :( I have a sick kiddo (flu) and while normally I would leave her with my husband while I go workout, he has to pick up his parents at the airport at the SAME time as my two classes. Sigh.

So my mini-goal for today is to do some running on the treadmill and scrape up a weight workout in my very own basement. Maybe the temps outside today will even get above 25...that would feel downright balmy!

Anyway, it would be MUCH easier to sit around in my sweats and do nothing, but I'm determined to do SOMETHING!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
