Here I am:D just had a very busy week and week-end DH and I went to the Air Show it was Great . TM don't worry about your weight gain it is more then likely the stress! Sue just think, once my Ins. BCBS approved me I was having the surgery in a matter of a week so you don't sweat the small stuff, if Charlene says she figured it out what was wrong just believe that it is all right and hopefully you be an Oct. banded baby!!! You know you can go on BCBS web site and see for your self if Dr. Choban is "In Network" I don't see why she wouldn't be if she is "In Network" for both Debbie and I who both have BCBS it just must have been some typo or miss understanding!!

Dorothy must not be addicted to this web site like we are:heh:! I just can't get enough of it even though I was busy I was still thinking of you guys, about yall was doing, what you have been sharing ect. ect. ect.

Debbie how was the Octoberfest? I have never been and always say I want to go be when it is going on I am always busy doing other things, guess there is always next year, when I will be thin......;).

Okay weight loss has been slow for me, at least I think so I am down 35 pounds but I want it to much more..... So I have decided that I am going to work out every day I will be going straight to the Gym right after work, we have a Really nice one at my job that is FREE so I have to get my Bootie up there to be like Debbie!!!

TM, your step-daughter's comment is one of the major reason why I choose not to tell anyone about having the surgery, my own mother doesn't even know I had this done, I will be telling her soon due to me deciding to help any one who ask me how I am losing this weight and looking GOOD:o. Anywho don't listen to her because if it was that easy to lose weight why wouldn't all obese people just lose the weight, not every one is blessed like she is to be able to drop weight like that. Okay Every one I am heading upstairs to get ready for bed:notagree. Good night all and I will talk to everyone soon!!!!!!!

hi, everyone.

the octoberfest was fun. i used to say that i liked "to eat my way from one end to the other" at the fairs and festivals. but i only ate a bratwurst and threw away the bun. with the money i saved on food, i was able to buy some new earrings and a necklace.

this saturday i am thinking of going to the Gallery Hop in the short north.

i love the autumn.

:omg: No Way!! Sue, I'm sure there has been some mix with your paper work. No way they have denied you. Did they give a reason?? :cry Don't give up just yet. Have you contacted Charlene yet?? If not, call her ASAP and find out her thoughts on everything. Hang in Sue.

:think The Insurance Co. denied my claim.

Are you sure? Have you checked with your employer to see if they do not cover Lap Band or WLS? It may be with your employer so you need to call your benefits department and see if WLS is an exclusion on there plan. I know in 2006 it was not covered on my DH policy that is why I chose to pick up my company medical this year because I knew that they did pay for it. Did you get a letter from the Ins. company? Don't give up! Call Charlene ASAP!

Well now for my update...... I am now a House Wife, a Stay at home Mom as of Monday:nervous. It wasn't by my choose, but the Company I worked for seems to get rid of people who have 20 years+ some how or another. I was kind of upset for a little while but DH has told me not to worry about it, and that he is going to Love me staying home. So I guess I am going to try this House wife job and see how it goes. I have to admitt I am so far enjoying it:biggrin1: this is just a Blessing I was not aware was just around the corner:D. DH was saying every thing has worked out for us, me picking up my Ins. getting my surgery so soon and them paying for it, so I guess I am happy of how God has worked out every thing for us!!! So my free gym is gone but I have a nice work out room at home and am using it at 7:30a after dropping my 16 year old 6'2 soon off at the bus stop:biggrin1:

Ok I hope every one is doing Great!!!

Evening everyone. I have been way to busy to be around much the last few days.

Debbie, glad to hear you had a good time at the Octoberfest. I would love to attend some of the events in Columbus. DH and I usually go to the Sweet Corn Fest. in Millersport and we go to the county fairs (we are such country folk) and the pumpkin show is just around the corner. I love country crafts and OMG the food is so good :o.

Lady, DH and I talked about going to the air show last weekend, well, DH talked and talked about going but our nephews only turn 14 once in their lives! :D I would love to be a "house wife" God is so good and he works things out just the way they are supposed to be. I think you are doing great with your weight loss. You have lost 35lbs in just over 2 months???? You are doing great.

Sue.....I agree with Lady. Call Charlene ASAP. Don't give up yet :).

Dorothy!!! COME OUT, COME OUT, WHERE EVER YOU ARE!

I hope you all have a blessed day tomorrow.

Wow, everyone has such changes in their lives!

Sue--i am sorry to hear that. but you may just have to resubmit. maybe they always refuse the first time. sometimes they are like that. dont just drop the ball. remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. the insurance company is just hoping you will go away, they dont want to pay if they can get out of it.

Lady--after working there 20 years and they just let you go?

do you get any kind of retirement? it is a blessing that you are financially able to take a hit like that. You were able to make lemonade out of lemons. It would be great to stay home especially when you still have kids at home. They will love it.

nothing much new with me. i am on some of the online dating services. i am meeting a guy tomorrow for coffee. we will see how it goes. his picture is nothing to write home about but his profile is nice. i dont really need a man, i am just doing this to keep my mind off Ken. If i dont have something to keep me occupied then i will just be sitting around mopping about him. and i dont want to do that. it was a great 10 years and now i have to move on. and dont worry i will be careful--we are just meeting for coffee.

yesterday at the health club there was a very nicely built woman. she was about my height. i got up the nerve to ask her how much she weighed because i wanted to know how much i had to lose before i looked like that. she said 160. whoa! i was aiming for 175, is 160 an attainable goal. we will see. i probably havent been 160 since i was 16!!

Charlene is the one that gave me the bad news. She said that Dr. Choban would talk to them "peer to peer" on Friday and see if she could get them to change their mind. So far I have not heard from anyone. I guess the problem is that my BMI is only 37 and my only co morbid is hypertension. They don't count high cholesterol. I'm not giving up totally yet but I don't have much hope. Thanks for the support ladies, it means a lot!

Hang in there Deb..Mr. right will come along when you least expect it.

Hello Everyone!

Debbie sorry that your date didn't turn out to be a keeper, keep searching and Mr. Right will show up! As for my old job, yes it was like Thanks for your 20 years, here is your 20 years of service one week and the next it was sorry but we got to let you go. Don't get me wrong I was out of the attendence guide line I was late two days and missed another all in a 6 months period, but believe me when I say I know for a fact that there are a lot of people who have a lot worse attendence problem then I did!!! Some of them are calling me worried and concerned, I tell them that they need to get in the company guide lines so that they can't do it to you. The funny thing is I had been telling my DH every time they had let my co-workers go over some thing really petty, but I never would had guess that I was on their Chopping box.... Because I knew that I was I Great worker that they put on Special Projects all the time... I guess that goes to show every one is re-placeable or at least they think that....Oh it is there Lost! As for Retirement I do have that, and I also have a good amount in my 401k Thank God that I was smart enough to get into that! I have preached that to all of my younger co-workers they think that they are young and can wait but that is free money the company gives you with their match dollar amount!! Ok, ok I'm done ranting SORRY!

Sue, I pray that Dr. Choban can talk some sense into your Ins. company. It is a dag on shame that some Ins. company want you on your Death Bed before they want to approve you:angry.

Good Morning Girls!!

Debbie, I think you are doing the right thing by getting back out there in the dating game. I must have missed what happened between you and your old BF, but IMHO its best to shake the dust off and just move on. After being married 13yrs, my ex-husband just walked in one day and said he wasn't happy and was leaving. No warning. I was totally side swiped. He left that night and I packed all his stuff the next day and had it waiting for him to pick up. Don't get me wrong, I did pitch one nasty fit when he was telling me he was leaving, and it hurt for along time, but I wasn't giving him anymore power over me then I already had. I decided to shake the dust off and move on. MOVE ON MY FRIEND.....MOVE ON.

Sue, Don't give up hon. If your Dr. is talking with them I'm sure they will see the light. I would think that a BMI of 37 and high blood pressure would be enough. My ins. requires a BMI of 35 and one co-morbidity, of course thats my insurance co. If all else fails, gain a couple pounds and try again. I know that I could get flamed on the main board for that, but you have to do what you have to do sometimes..... just a thought.

Lady, Sometimes things happen and we don't fully understand why at the time. One of my fave scriptures is Romans 8:28. How very true is that??

Big day today girls so I have to get on the ball. I will check in later tonight. Have a blessed day!

Ok....Where is everyone????

I had a really busy weekend. DH and I went to his awards banquet at Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark for work on Sat. Lots of fun. We had a great dinner under the big tent then went inside for casino night. DH and I don't gamble, so it made it that much more fun. They gave everyone 10,000.00 in fake money and we were able to just blow it. We played Black Jack and its a good thing I don't gamble....LOST IT ALL!!! DH ended up with 260,000.00!!! After church on Sun. we headed for Hocking Hills, there is a craft mart there that I have been wanting to go to. It was so hot, but we still had a great time. The leaves haven't really changed yet, but still very pretty there.

I have been checking out the posts on the Cosmetic Surgery thread. Do you guys plan on anything after you reach goal? I'm thinking I'm gonna need something done.... TT maybe. If I had it my way I would have a boob job too. DH thinks I'm being silly, but my breasts are 2 totally different sizes, and very tiny. The right is an A and the left is a B. I'm really not into vanity, but it would be so nice to have a shirt or dress fit right.

Sue, any news yet? I am praying they reconsider.

I hope everyone has a blessed day tomorrow.

No news yet. I called Charlene twice today and got her voice mail. I'm hoping that she will call me soon...I don't want to call BCBS until know if DR. Choben has talked to them. I would need to gain 15 lbs to get a BMI of 40 and beleive me I would have tried if I had known they would turn me down! My BMI 38 now and I think I have gained 5lbs since this all started! Say a prayer for me please!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
