Starting The Journey

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Robyn and I had my vertical sleeve surgery on 11/11/13. I have lived through the first week, the gas pain and am feeling almost normal. It was wonderful to eat some grits and oatmeal and not feeling hungry all the time. The 2 week diet prior to surgery was something I did because that was what was required. It was tough, I felt hungry most of the time, was discouraged that the weight seemed to slowly change but was nothing compared to what I thought it would be with so little intake. The gas pain after the surgery was the worst of the surgery but that changed and became better every day. I am looking forward to slowly increasing the food options and continuing to eat to live. I am a food lover but am very dedicated to my rebirth of a better me. Congratulations to all of you in your weight loss. :P

Congrats on taking such a great step in your life. I had my surgery on 12/11/12, and I'm now down about 110 pounds. I can't tell you how much my life has changed, mostly just in the way I feel and think about myself. It's hard work-- you won't lose much if you don't exercise and stick to the program, but it is SO worth it! Enjoy your new tiny tummy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
