Topic Locked Question

Recommended Posts

Hi

I can't find the answer in the Rules section and need to get to work, so can't search any longer----but my question is, does anyone know what "This Topic Locked" means? I saw it on one thread and assume no one else can add anything.

Please excuse me if Im posting this question in the wrong place; Im just not seeing where to find the info or ask the question.

Thank you!

Basically means that the admins have had enough of our foolishness and don't want anymore posts made to that thread. Some forums refer to it as closed, locked whatever.

Am I the only one thinking it'd be ironic if they locked this post?

I agree with Hazel, and yet I was thinking that having it up gives a good idea to others who might want to start or add to a flame war a clear understanding that it's not going to be tolerated by the administration of the site.

I love this site for all the support and encouragement it gives, when it gets all out of control like that it undermines all the good and people that have value to add shy away from the site. Hopefully we are past that now :)

Instead of locking threads, they should just delete them :)

Actually there is value, if nothing else it shows how you shouldn't respond to a topic. I know that Alex will delete posts and threads that break the rules. Locking sometimes is just a way of telling people that "enough, is enough" and let's move on.

I would hate to see things being deleted. I know there is a ton of great info mixed in with some of those threads. And just because the posters have gone off topic, or broken a few rules, that doesn't make the info less valuable. And when you start deleting threads, it can make a topic really jumbled and hard to follow. Not to mention when you start giving mods the ability to just delete posts, sometimes that ends in an abuse of power.

Can I just add that I found that "Locked Topic" hilarious - then pathetic. I'm still giggling tho!!

Does that make me bad? :P

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
