How far out are you?

I'd say take any zofran/phenergen you have left over and contact your dr. That early on you could still damage your suture line. (Early retching partially caused my leak) if you don't have an antiemetic get into see a dr ASAP, maybe even the ER. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Any peppermints or ginger around? You need an antiemetic and try to keep up the fluids. I know at this point you're probably just dry heaving which is dangerous for the new stomach. Any other symptoms?

So it turned out that the food I ate was causing the vomiting. The doctor Gave me some iv antiemetics in the ER. ONCE I purged my stomach completely, I was instantly fine. The doctors concern is that my stoma was blocked, but he assured me that if in a few more hours if it had not gotten better, he would get an endoscopy. He says he sees this all the time. After 7 hours, I was finally relieved. My endoscopy in the end showed nothing but a stomach lining irritation. So I was told.

What do people who had the surgery in Mexico do when events like this happen?

Are they just on their own? Do they make contact with bariatric surgeons in the US? Rely on a primary care physician? Ask people on a message board what they should do?

I had my surgery in Mexico. I made sure to have a primary care doctor who would be willing to follow me whenever I got back. She has dobr wonderfully. She follows my blood work and my Surgeon gave me all his contact info before I left so I can call him and she can call him for consults.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
