pain... pain... pain

Recommended Posts

Omg... I was doing so good almost completely pain free at two weeks out. Started back to work yesterday and was so exhausted I came home, cried and fell asleep. Back to work today and did better but the muscle under the largest incision got mor and more sore as the day passed. Within 5 min of getting home it hurt so bad and it was constant. Then I coughed and it was as bad as it was right after surgery. Im not sure if something's wrong or if I'm just overdoing it. But it hurts and I'm scared.

My doctor told me it was the muscle growing back together and any exertion would aggravate it. So try to take it easy and allow your body some time to heal.

I had the same issue. In fact until I started regularly using that area I had it every time I aggravated it. I am 10 weeks out and up until 2 weeks ago I was still having occasional pain. Now that I regularly use that area I am essentially back to normal.

Same problem here. Had to go back and see my doc the pain was so bad. Tomorrow I'll be sleeved 3 weeks. I took two weeks off of work to recover and felt pretty good. By the second day back at work i couldn't move or touch that area. My doc said maybe I just over did it and gave me some mobic. I wear a brace around my stomach 24/7 and I swear by it.

Apparently your surgeon didn't offer you an abdomen binder after surgery. Some doctors do and some don't. It helps with stabilizing your abdomen. It really helps. I wore mine 24/7 up to 6 weeks after my surgery because I didn't want to take a chance of feeling any pain from moving around. I would advise anyone to get a binder especially if they are going back to work soon after surgery just for comfort. It really helps if you are going to be on your feet for a long time. If you can get one...you should. Why experience pain if you don't have to. Check with your doctor about it.

I was told this is the next stage in the healing process.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
