Well, they're going to be very important during the 2 week (varies by surgeon) liquid diet that follows the VSG surgery. I think that if we didn't have any Protein Drinks, it'd be very very difficult to meet the very important goal of 60-80g of Protein per day when we're not allowed solid food.< /p>

Hi D, They are easy on the tummy and super high in Protein. Some of high in calories and some are not. But if we can remember to have a lot of protein every day from the beginning, maybe our hair won't be falling out a few months from now!

Is it still important for being two months out?

If you're able to get in all of your Protein on regular foods 2 months out, then you wouldn't need the Protein drinks. They're there to help us meet that daily Protein goal if we're unable to meet that goal with solid food alone.

what if I eat a lot of eggs & chicken & veggies? Does that matter?

Yeah it definitely matters, just make sure to count all the grams of Protein that you're taking in from your food to make sure you're getting the adequate amount of Protein, and if you are between that 60g-80g daily protein goal, then you're all set, you don't need those protein drinks!

As long as you reach your Protein goals set by your doc it really don't matter in what form you get it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
