My doc wanted me to walk at least 20 minutes a day... and to walk more if I could. But I had a rough recovery and only walked a few minutes a day. After the 2nd week post-op, I started increasing my walking and now (10 months later) I walk 5 miles a day 4 or 5 days a week.

My doctor advised me to walk as much as I could every 2 hours after surgery. Once I came home my husband and I would go to the outlet mall or the strand and walk for a couple of hours each day. I had a very easy recovery.

I walked a lot in the hospital. The first week I worked myself up to walking each day by starting out walking around my cul de sac with my husband for 5 minutes slow 2 laps the day after I got home. I increased it to 10 then 15 down the street then the block. I'm 9 wks out and walk 2 miles a day with my son in a stroller and my dog.

My first week I had to work myself up to a mile (I didn't time myself) I didn't have pain but nausea with motion, and still do :(

I am just about 3 weeks out and am walking 2 miles every other day but find after about 1.5 I get nauseous, still chugging along tho!

After my two week visit my dr said to walk an hour. I had to actually make myself get on the treadmill probably a week and 1/2 later. Was just physically fatiqued. Doing much better now. I listen to some good downloads on my phone and get my bottled Water and that hour passes by really fast.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
