Catheter or no? Days in hospital?

Recommended Posts

Go in for my preop on Oct 31 and I know my questions will be answered. But did any of you have a catheter during surgery? How many days were you in the hospital before you were released to go home?

Yep, I had a catheter. It was removed about 3:30am the day after surgery. I was only in the hospital 24 hours, and that was from check-in for surgery to discharge. Super quick.

No catheter, and I went home the next day after surgery.

No catheter but I almost wished I had one -- when I woke up in recovery I was desperate to pee (they pump a lot of fluids into you!) and had to have the nurse bring me a bed pan since they wouldn't let me out of bed.

My surgery was early Wednesday morning and I was out at noon on Friday.

I had a catheter and it was removed the next morning and I was there for 2 days. Good luck! :)

No catheter for me. I stayed in the hospital the evening of surgery and was discharged the following afternoon.

Catheter, but I barely even remember it, that's how quick and uneventful it was.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
