December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Alright December Sleevers, I'm hoping that this title brings more people in so we can follow and encourage each other through our journeys.

I am 40. I'm 5'4" and about 308 right now. I'd like to get to a healthy BMI which would be around 145. I'm hoping for a December 4th or 5th date with Dr. William Johnson.

Everyone introduce yourselves!

Surgery is in the morning. Have to be there at 6:30! I too have been washing with anti bac soap for 2 days & again in the morning. Scared, excited, nervous all wrapped into one!!! God be with everyone on this journey.

Prayers for Andrew!

Don't know if anyone else is like me, but I watched a whole gastric sleeve procedure (from a Dr. in Marietta, GA) on youtube last night. I couldn't believe they had such a thing on youtube but they do. It was very interesting.

Lol, I've been watching them since I started this journey on 06/19/13! They're so interesting to watch!!

Well tomorrow's our day Cabstewart! Are you ready to join the Losers bench with the rest of the crew????

Something the nurse told me at the pre-op visit… she said that women should not shave their legs or underarms the day before or day of surgery because the razor causes tiny cuts to the skin which can make you more susceptible to infection. I don't know if this applies to men shaving their face, but it would seem that it would. That was a surprise!

Awww man there goes my plans to shave!! I wonder if the same thing applies if we use Nair or Veet???

Surgery in the morning, so many other things going on in my life right now at the same time. But I'm trying to focus on myself. I'm nervous, anxious, excited just everything in one right now! To all my other 12/16 sleevers, good luck to you all. I'll be asking The Lord to protect and keep you all safe. Wishing you all a safe and successful surgery and a speedy recovery!

All you sleeved December wonders make room for the 12/16 group were a pretty big group!!!!

I'M VERY EARLY BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY GOOD LUCK , AND REST EASY TO EVERYONE THAT GETS SLEEVED TOMORROW!!!

Big thank you so peachy! I will be also praying for my fellow sleevers tonight for a peace and calm, praying that you will be watched over tomorrow and beyond for a successful surgery and recovery!

I agree about how disheartening not dropping sizes is! I lost weight over a year and a half omce and it was 50 pounds before I could drop ONE size! That was so painful!

Hope the other Decembers find their way over!

Congrats on your date! Can't wait for us to get this thing started!!

Hello AtlantaRed!! Just sleeved last Wednesday!! Going good, banded June 09. Made the switch after loosing WAY to much too fast and regaining all my weight except 30 lbs. :(. Took me awhile to make the decision to go under the knife for the second time in my life. Have a fantastic surgery in CT @ Yale. Thanks for having this feed!

Heading in tomorrow. Nervous and excited. Ready to move on ...

Good luck! Positive thoughts your way!

So not sure if its the anxiety, clear liquids, or both (probably) but I am an anxious mess. Have thrown up already and can't seem to get any sleep past three days. Tomorrow can't get here fast enough.
