December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Alright December Sleevers, I'm hoping that this title brings more people in so we can follow and encourage each other through our journeys.

I am 40. I'm 5'4" and about 308 right now. I'd like to get to a healthy BMI which would be around 145. I'm hoping for a December 4th or 5th date with Dr. William Johnson.

Everyone introduce yourselves!

Getting ready. Clear liquids all day. Starving. Won't miss being hungry while eating this way :) nervous excited. Hope I can sleep! Good luck everyone!

Prayers for Andrew

Good luck and good thoughts to everyone going in tomorrow. Andrew, I am praying for you!

Good luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow! I'm getting sleeved on Thursday, and I'm already having mood swings! Ugh, I'm a mess!

Something the nurse told me at the pre-op visit… she said that women should not shave their legs or underarms the day before or day of surgery because the razor causes tiny cuts to the skin which can make you more susceptible to infection. I don't know if this applies to men shaving their face, but it would seem that it would. That was a surprise!

I was told the same thing... and last year my hubby didn't shave that morning

3 days post op and started shakes again. I hate them, all flavors, and don't know how I am going to get through the next 2 weeks.

How are you doing with that? I am having surgery on Tuesday and I am really not all that fond of them now on the pre-op diet so I am a bit nervous about next week. So far the best have been GNC's total lean - the one's that are already prepared although they are kind of pricey. A friend who went through this said to not get to attached cause what she liked before was different than after, so keep trying!

Andrew posted in his other thread that he is out of surgery and doing well.

Good Luck to all the Dec 16th sleevers and I pray for each of you for a safe surgery and speedy recovery.

thank you all for the well wishes for us going in tomorrow! See you all on the loser's bench soon!

I wanted to check in with everyone, but I don't want to bring down the thread. I will just say I am 12 days out and have been unsuccessful at keeping anything down other than clear liquids. Someone up thread asked if anyone is having regrets and I will wave my hand big time. I won't drag you all down with all of the details but if you want to read what is going on with me I have a thread in post-op called "in need of support" if you are interested in reading the specifics.I don't want my negative experience to influence the choices you all have already made and worked so hard for. However, I will continue to support you all and cheer for each of your victories!

But also know that everyones victory's are everyone's, as well as everyone's downs are ours as well. I (we) are here to help u. And what u may b going thru might help some1 else. So Ty 4 ur support and if u choose to vent here, plz don't fear bc we r all adults and its our choice to take what we may read from u and use it as its taken, meaning, ur not responsible for changing our minds, we may second guess, but leave that to us. Ik that I want to b here for u, and I believe that this group will agree. How r u n how can we help? Ur in my prayers:)

Positive thoughts for Andrew. He posted a topic that he was taken to the hospital and they found a bleed.

Thanks for the update! Hang in there, Andrew!!

well, I had my surgery and have been home for 3 days. I am on Tylenol with codine and this helps a lot with the ouch pains. my stomache hurts more so in the area where the drainage was put in. by the way, when the doc pulled it out, no pain so don't worry. getting up in the hospital was rough and ask for a pillow and put it on your stomache as you get up off the bed. the first time I took a sip of water and got that heartattack feeling was a wow!!!! no pain but really weird. so you learn your own way of sipping your stuff. hope this helps someone...and by the way..i packed a bag and never used it...good luck all, jamalyn
