December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Recommended Posts

Good to know from someone who literally feels my pain!

Had my gallbladder removed last year (which will be sort of similar to the sleeve) and that was BAD. Also, had a tiny pimple sized basal cell carcinoma removed from my upper chest. It took 2 vials to numb it up. I had so much in me, I was shaking all over! Then that tiny thing hurt for weeks.

Nonetheless, looking forward to suffering through for this surgery!!

Thanks for the imput.

That reminds me of the dentist. It takes a lot to numb up my mouth. I dread going in that place. Well, here's to hoping they don't over or under do it! lol

Tentatively set for Dec 30 :) have cleared all testing but an upper gi which is soon. 38yr old 5'1 260lbs

I too was always thin - at 12 weeks pregnant with my first child I was a mere 112lbs - I ended up gaining 68lbs. Lost most of it and 4 yrs later had my 2nd child gained a lot again didn't lose much after and 16 months later had my last child - the excess weight NEVER came off. I have contemplated WLS for years and finally just said "I'm doing it"

I actually should have had it back in October but my mom had such a hard time with it that I postponed it - i can happily say I now have her support and look forward to my surgery!!!

No they can't! The great thing about secret groups is no one can see your activity. They can't see that you joined or posted or anything!

I haven't told many people either (my family outside of my home) and they are on Facebook too.

AtlantaRed - I have tentatively scheduled for Dec. 3rd pending my approval (which I should know very soon). But, the surgeon said I could go ahead and pick a date so I chose that one.....the day after my birthday!

Happy Halloween :)...more importantly to me, today is the day of my bariatric review board meeting. Everything gets submitted to insurance tomorrow. All preop appointments are scheduled. Fingers crossed and wish me luck!

Hello Joset, why haven't you been given a diet plan? Did you have your surgery in the UK? Every surgeon has a different diet, and no two people are on the same one. Weird I know. Contact your team if you can

Mine was two weeks clear liquids

Two weeks on soups, milk shakes and broths all with out lumps

        two weeks on pureed foods { I couldn't stomach this step }

two weeks on soft foods like Protein yogurt, stewed mince and veg, soft scrambled eggs. Pate on hard crackers

Then onto any food I fancied. If you struggle on any step or with any foods go back a step for a few days. Eggs, salmon and chicken are hard for beginners.

Sorry I missed your original post, hope you are still on here.
