I'm on my preop diet to shrink my liver? Have you heard of anyone not having surgery due to an enlarged liver? My current weight is 227. I don't want to get to small before surgery and lose 100 lbs after surgery. Worried about my hair falling out too.

I asked this very question and my crew said 'we have never stopped a surgery because of someones liver'.. So i guess, you're good... As for the hair loss.. this is a tough one. Some people have it.. Some people don't. Its all about your Protein levels and sometimes the shock of the surgery. Unfortunately, you just can't tell - but you can help it by following your diet plan, taking a few supplements and hoping for the best. Good luck! :) x

I did not have a pre op of any kind, I personally think it is unnecessary, just my opinion.

I did have hair loss from month 3-5. Its growing back beautifully. I wasn't worried about it. It's going to happen or it's not. Not much you can do about it. Just embrace it. I have yet to see a post saying OMG I am bald. LOL you would have to lose over 50% of your hair before anyone would notice anyway.

Enjoy your life.

My starting I weight was 230 and I am 5'6. I have indeed heard of people getting closed up and not having surgery because their liver was enlarged. If you trust your doctor to cut out 85% of your stomach! you should follow his pre-op to the letter.

I wish I had to worry about getting too small on pre-op! I only lost 8 lbs on 2 weeks of nothing but 3 Protein shakes and 2-3 cups of vegetable Soup.

I have heard of surgery being canceled because of an enlarged liver. As far as Hair loss, mine has been minimal. I'm almost 6 months out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
