Congrats ChrisG that is so great! I wish I was that far too. I am doing good but maybe I could be doing better. Last April I was 319. Date if surgery I was 287 on 8/13. I am now at 226. I was hoping to be further along. Do you have any advise?

I think you are doing great! I feel like my loss has slowed allot. I always worry this is going to be as far as I can go.

I have been sick the last month with kidney issues so I haven't worked out. Today I weighed myself and it's says I am up a pound from last Friday. I don't get it!!

Well I am jealous. Misswifey21, you and I are the same height and wore the same sizes, but I am only down 80 lbs to 250. What are you doing? What is your daily menu? You are my inspiration. I need to catch up. My surgery was on August 26.

Don't be jealous beautiful! I'm really not doing much a little exercise around my house and I walk a lot. To be honest my diet isn't the greatest because I can eat anything and it doesn't get me sick except sugar oh does sugar get me sick and goes right through me and that's no fun. But I eat pretty much anything but in portions. I have only lost about 90 lbs since surgery and I had my surgery on August 6 so actually you're doing better than I am cause yours was on the 26th! Just keep doing what you're doing michele1az where do you love? There should be support groups you can go to! I am in az and I need to start going to to these support groups but I haven't . You're doing great tho! Don't get yourself down! Anytime you wanna talk tho message me on here

Officially am down 80lbs now. I went to the gym today and walked a little over a mile and a half on the treadmill. I plan on keeping up with working out daily. Tonight is my monthly support group meeting. I am taking a friend with me that is planning on having VSG. She went with me last time. It's nice having people to talk to that have been or are going through what I am. That's why I like this group!

Right on schedule! It sucks but it's worth it. Biotin hasn't been proven to stop Hair loss. The shock of surgery and sudden extreme weight loss causes it and everyone experiences it to some degree or another - from mild to severe. Mine started at 4 months and is finally slowing at 8 1/2 months. I have baby fine hair to begin with so it REALLY feels thin now! Avoid harsh chemical treatments, use gentle good quality hair products, and maybe try a new hairstyle. Some people go shorter (like me) to help disguise the hair loss. Keep taking biotin - supposedly it helps with hair and nail health so maybe it'll help make your hair healthier when it starts filling in again.

Don't get discouraged! If someone told me I'd lose over a hundred pounds by shaving my head I would've done it! It's only temporary! :-)

I also cut my hair because of Hair loss. I've always had long thick curly hair and loved it but it was starting to get so thin at the ends it didn't look good so I got it cut to my shoulders.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
