December Surgeries!?!?!?

Recommended Posts

Finally going home from the hospital. My surgery was yesterday and was successful. Still got some pain on my abdomen but the liquid pain meds are helping a lot. I wasn't able to keep anything down last night but did somewhat well for Breakfast, I hope it gets easier! Praying for y'all Dec surgeries and wishing you best of luck. Btw, I did the 2 day Protein liquid diet and last 10 pounds when they weighed me before surgery! Exciting!!!!

Had my pre-op appointment today which included checking in with the hospital, paying the rest of my expenses, and pre-admit testing including ekg, lung xray, blood work, and urine sample. 37 days smoke free! Diet starts in two days. Pardon my language, but s**t just got real!

Day 2 after surgery. I'll be in the hospital at least until tomorrow afternoon.

Things didn't go exactly as planned...they got 4 holes poles in me and decided because of my anatomy they had to revert to an open rny. I'm in a lot of pIn tonight from the muscles and all being cut, but I have no gas pains.

I was doing really well up until this evening but now the pain is crazy bad. They have upped feh delodid and Tylenol. I'm hoping tonight is the worse of it.

More later or tomorrow.

26 December is my date!!!

Hi. I am new to this but my date is Dec 17 after a 6 month program. I just started the 2 week pre-op Protein Shakes. It has been a tough day with that, my head is filling with doubts.

Things didn't go exactly as planned for me either. .. I was to have my gall bladder removed during my sleeve surgery but when they got in they couldn't get all the stones so they closed me back up after 2 hours and now I got to see another surgeon for the stone's. ...so I sit in uncertainty and in pain the pain I should be feeling from my sleeve but no its from my gall bladder

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
