I had my surgery On Friday. I was on morphine for pain for a day and a half. Now Im taking children's liquid Tylenol and managing my pain quite well. My surgeon said my liver ws fatty but he still had room to work, Thank God! I was on Opti fast for 14 days and was allowed greens, but admittedly I did cheat with chips, gummies, chilli and one day a chicken burger with fries (I was disobedient I know). I lost about 7 LBS. Anyway i had no complications and Im feeling great. You will be surprised how full u get on such a little bit of food

Wow, I'm glad you are doing fine now. Please don't take this the wrong way, but why did you cheat on the pre- op diet? I really don't understand. If I had cheated and something went wrong, I'd endlessly beat myself up because I could have done it differently. I'm not holding myself up as perfect, but I followed my pre-op diet to the letter and the same post- op. Again, I'm really glad you are doing fine.

What was your pre-op diet? Mine was low fat, normal food, sticking to around 1000 cals a day. Didn't measure cals and may have had one or two more bowls of muesli than necessary but everything I've eaten has been low fat, zero sugar and no alcohol. I had one meal out on Friday night which didn't exactly meet the low fat requirements but still avoided chips (fries), alcohol and sugar. Thinking about doing a liquid diet (Complan/Soup etc) for the next 4 days leading up to the surgery, just to make up for any deviations on the pre-op and also to cleanse my system.

My pre-op diet was 3 Slimfast shakes (meals) and two Protein Shakes (snacks) plus broth, Water, a little juice (4-8 oz) a day. I could also have Decaf tea, sf Jello and sf popsicles. The last day before surgery I followed that diet through lunch, then had Clear liquids until 4 hours pre-op.

I just didn't eat and drank water..I think that's why I cracked with the mcdonalds run...today is the start of my all liquids...again. Not eating and drinking Water.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
