Take it easy and don't rush the process... Some people are more sensitive than others. I couldn't eat for a least a 6 weeks. (6 months out now)... As long as you are getting you Protein down you are fine... :)

I struggled eating at the beginning and my doc said u have to eat or your weight loss will stop. He was right there would b times I thought I would puke with every bite. It will get better. Everyday try to eat a little more than yesterday. Track your calories that helped me I was only eating 400/500 per day then now I try really hard to hit 1000 each day. It takes time u will get there.

If you've only had Water for "the last few weeks" I would definitely recommend calling your surgeon. Enough Water will allow you to avoid dehydration but won't do anything toward helping you avoid malnutrition.

Protein is crucially important at six weeks out - your body needs it for healing, it will help reduce your susceptibility to infection, reduces hair loss and reduces loss of lean muscle mass just to name a few. Do whatever it takes to get your Protein in. Try taking a sip every 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes - whatever you can tolerate. Same for soft foods. Keep trying new things until you find one or two or three that you can at least get down. It's difficult when you're not hungry and as mentioned above, it's common for your taste to change following surgery. But your body will interpret eating nothing as a famine state and will begin to conserve calories - meaning your weight loss will slow or stop altogether. You can do this and you're gonna love the new you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
