Wow no offense to your before pic but I think you look a lot younger now!!! :) looking good girl!

Thank you! That's awesome! I'm hoping I don't lose tightness in my face (trying to use my age for my benefit going through this).

Anyone eat something and it felt stuck or your pouch was having terrible spasms? This seems to happen when I eat chicken. I could not vomit but I was nauseated with some sort of a foam trying to come up. This was horrible!!!!

Sometime in 2015... Because #1 I want to have all of my weight gone and #2 I have to graduate nursing school first or I'll lose my financial aid when they calculate his salary in as well. We aren't in a rush though! We enjoy our life together already (though truth be told' date=' we would both love to run out and get married tomorrow... He's VERY anxious an excited!) lol[/quote']

Totally understand finishing nursing. That would add a lot of cost onto you to lose your financial aid.

I planned my wedding (22 years ago) in 9 weeks! My fiancé at the time had moved to Nc and I was still in Sc. We didn't want to be apart, so we did it quick. And cheap compared to weddings today. We paid under $1000 for our wedding. :)

Yes. That's what happens when you throw up. First comes the foamy white stuff and then the food. It's yuck!

That's a feeling I hope I never have again. I had to walk around and eventually it settled in my pouch. I ate chicken like crazy before rny but I guess I will stick to seafood for now.

I have been told by my surgeon that some RNY patient have no tolerance for chicken in any way shape or form. My one friend told me she could not eat chicken for a whole year after here RNY. Im holding off on chicken until im feeling more confident with solid foods. good luck, i would call your surgeon and run it by them to make sure.

I must be lucky. 6 weeks and chicken has been no problem.

Ok I have a bit of a vent... I had a friend find out I had surgery ... If I have one more person say "just make sure you stick to the program" I'm going to scream ! I mean don't know about the rest of you but I'm pretty sure surgery wasn't the first thing any of us came up with. I have been researching this since 1999! If diet and exercise worked for me I would not be here!i did not put my body through surgery to not follow the plan.....

Ok vent over thanks for listening...

Oh god if I had a nickel for every time I've heard it from my bf.

All the I swear if after years and you regain this I'm not supporting you in anything cause what's the point if you don't even believe in yourself.

Wow right? Also everyone else and their mothers saying I know a person/ my aunt/ my cousins grandparent/ apparently the whole world has had this surgery and I'm the last to know. And all the horror stories that I ignore because it's not worth listening to. If I follow my doctors plan and stick with it I will be fine. It's a lifestyle change not a get fit quick change.

If I have to explain to anyone else that it's not am easy process or that I'm doing this for my health not because I'm too lazy to try the "normal" way I'm going to freak.

Plus it's too hot to be arguing with anyone. On the way to and from my doctors appt yesterday my AC in my car started blowing air but it wasn't cold. The drive was almost 2 hours away and omg was I sweating buckets.

7 days til surgery and it can't come soon enough!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
