So I'm up… eating a little egg white with turkey sausage… and then off for my morning walk… this weight loss is a time consuming full time job! I hope I can figure out an exercise schedule once school starts in september!

Michelle' date=' you are always in my thoughts. Hopefully everything will get better soon!

So far I have had no aversions to anything I've eaten… this worries me at times because I don't want to fall back into old patterns later on…[/quote']

I agree with you completely. I too am a teacher so I have all day to work on my many mini meals, Protein, fluids, and working out. I don't know what I will do when work starts. It will be hard to schedule everything.

For those of you who have already gone back to work, what is your schedule like?

I am worried also & curious what others do to fit it all in...I work on a college campus in food service & it's very fast paced & demanding. Not to mention a 15month old & grad school. I don't want to ever go back to where I was.

Teacher here too. Won't know what my schedule looks like till I walk in the door in August. So I have no idea how its gonna work. Especially all the morning stuff, the Vitamins, Pepcid, gallbladder med, supplements, Protein shake....yech. Also I've been taking a mid morning walk as well as the gym in the late afternoon. Walking makes me feel so much better. And my school is nothing less than a clusterf#*% of an institution, so all that stress on top of it.

Relishing every moment of this summer!

I work 3-11 as a 911 dispatcher. We can be mandated to stay an extra 4 or 8 hours if people call off and there are open shifts. My schedule is completely unpredictable. I always take an extra snack in case I get stuck. I haven't been cooking because its just me and I eat so little - I've been buying things that hardly need prepared so I can throw some in a container in my lunch box and go. I like walking on my lunch break but the heat index has been about 100 so that's been a no go. I can make it to the gym days I only work 8 hours. Thankfully my gym is also open 24 hours.

My sweet hubby have me a hug this morning and replied "you are getting so skinny!" I am by no means skinny, but that sure was nice to hear!

Saw my NUT today and got a good review! Down 29.2 lbs according to her records. 3 weeks post op plus 2 weeks preop liquid diet. I feel like it should be more, but not complaining (much!)

Got cleared for most general food! Just no steak, raw tough veggies, or popcorn/seeds...

So excited to eat something crispy or crunchy!!! Done with the mush!!!

Yay!

I work 7:30a-4p. I usually have some coffee first thing in the am, eat a Protein Bar on my drive into work, at around 9:30 I have a Greek yogurt, lunch usually consisted of a roll up (turkey or ham with a wedge of laughing cow cheese spread over it, roll it up and cut in pinwheels) or some egg or tuna salad and a couple wheat thins, driving home I have a cheese stick or a Protein Shake, then dinner around 7.

It wasn't hard at all to go back to work, in fact I went back when I was still on liquids.

My daily work schedule too date is as follows:

4AM - Up and at them!!! in reality I lay in bed and check RNY talk till 5am :-)

5 AM - Protein Shake and take Vitamins over the next hour :-P

6:45 AM - Walk 1/2 mile to the trolley ( i increase my speed and have shaved 5 possibly 8 minutes off my best time as of this morning .

I have set a goal of walking a full mile to the next stop on the line by end of August

10 AM - Protein shake

3 PM - Protein Shake or G3 Gatorade

5 PM -Walk 1/2 mile to Home ( once again i have i increased my speed and have shaved 5 possibly 8 minutes off my best time .... Yea ME!)

6 PM - Light dinner with Protein Powder added and take vitamins over the next hour :-P

8 PM - food ( sugar free Popsicle or sugar free apple sauce ) cut off point nothing but Water or crystal lite after 8pm

10 PM - Power down for the evening , read play on my Android and drift off to have silly dreams :)

During the day i sip / drink as much water as possible. I have a bottle in front of me at all times and whenever my phone rings or i get an email i take a sip . needless to say i'm constantly sipping ( i get a butt load of calls and emails every day) , its good to be busy :-)

also i make an effort to move constantly , i try if possible to go see the person instead of calling, up and down the stairs constantly . ( if my schedule allows it ) it all adds up !! walk further do more moving ..... the buildings were the operations groups are is medium sized so it is conducive to getting in some good exercise while at work

as you can see i'm religious about this and i manage to get all of my protien , fluids and exercise in daily , on weekends i mix it up more but i do exercise twice as much on weekends

Hope this helps

hek1127- what do you teach?

hautechick- what are you studying?

RJ- LOVE this… "4AM - Up and at them!!! in reality I lay in bed and check RNY talk till 5am "

I bought a fitbit flex (i had the zip before) and when the site is working I love it. It tracks my steps, my sleep, calories burned.. you can track your food, Water all sorts… and I love the dashboard so I can keep track of it all. When you reach your step goal for the day you feel the Bracelet vibrate on your wrist. It also syncs with Map my walk. I think this is a link for a referral and will give you more info if interested, http://bit.ly/1dI4WOa

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
