I am sitting in the worst chairs in the world inside an ER room with my 19 year old. He has been feeling bad all week. He works... No workED at a landscape company, and has been outside in this extreme heat. I took him to urgent care on Tuesday. He was not dehydrated, but his sugar was at 49. After work yesterday, he basically collapsed in the bathroom. His sugar was 156, he had cramps, vomiting pretty much all day.

It looks like he is severely dehydrated. His kidneys were horrible when we got here and they have moved to bad at this point. Going in the right direction, but not great yet. They are not admitting him yet. So, we sit in this uncomfortable room and try to last through the night. Prayers appreciated!

I started a group called Educators if anyone wants to join :)

Where do I find it?

I am a speech Pathologist at a school for kids with special needs. My principal had the sleeve done 2 weeks before my rny and has been a tremendous support. She and I are already plotting ideas for keeping on the right track.

surgery date 6/11/13 HW: 364lbs. SW: 335.5 CW: 304 GW: 150

Prayers sent your way Mel. There's nothing worse than a seriously sick child, no matter their age.

I found the educators forum under social groups and I would love to join but it keeps asking for a forum password. Anyone know where I could retrieve my password as I have NO IDEA what it could be? I can read and post to all the forums and threads I have going but not add new ones :-(

Thank you! He came home around 7:09am. His kidneys were starting to break down. So thankful he's okay.

here is the link to the group

http://www.rnytalk.com/groups/show/12-educators/

I made it a public group when I created it so I'm not sure why it asked for a password… One other person has joined the group.

hek1127- what do you teach?

RJ- LOVE this… "4AM - Up and at them!!! in reality I lay in bed and check RNY talk till 5am "

I bought a fitbit flex (i had the zip before) and when the site is working I love it. It tracks my steps' date=' my sleep, calories burned.. you can track your food, Water all sorts… and I love the dashboard so I can keep track of it all. When you reach your step goal for the day you feel the Bracelet vibrate on your wrist. It also syncs with Map my walk. I think this is a link for a referral and will give you more info if interested, http://bit.ly/1dI4WOa[/quote']

I am studying integrated marketing communications

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
