I am having huge issues with still feeling "large". I understand I have lost weight but its like I can not accept being smaller. I feel big. I know they say this is the mental aspect, but I'm wondering how long it takes before being smaller finally sinks in? I feel flabby. Thoughts or insight?

I've lost 100 pounds and am 6 months out and I still see the old me in the mirror. I've had my husband and my family show me before and now pics and that's the only way I believe this. I see the scale numbers and sometimes think its a POS and telling me the wrong weight. I'm getting better but I've been told it can take some people awhile to adjust to all the changes. My best advice is to take a lot of pics and compare them to your before surgery ones. That's the only way I've found to help me. Plus I'm starting to like having pics taken of me.

It's called body dysmorphia. I feel the same way. I still suck it in when going through a doorway with someone else. The bathroom where I work there is a wide mirror and every time I see myself I am amazed its me! I've lost 90 lbs since 1/29/13. I'm waitin for my mind to catch up.

At 11 months out and down to a size 8/10 I still feel like at least an 18/20. Hopefully after reaching goal and staying there for awhile it will catch up. It's very common and I think different for everyone. I can tell you that exercise does help make you more conscious of your new size :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
