Hey guys! Good luck to everyone going in this week! I'm sorry I didn't do a round up last night. I was with my family and didn't get home till late and today is my first day back to work since surgery so I had to get to bed. I will do my best to get a round up in this evening! :) have a good week!

I am 11 days out from surgery. I have followed all directions from my doctor, and I am getting nervous because I have stayed at the same weight all weekend. I have always feared that this would fail for me just like all other diets. I am afraid to add soft foods today for fear of gaining weight. I sure hope that I can get past this feeling, because today is my postop appointment and I was supposed to add food this afternoon. :(

You should read the post op forum "weight stall" some people actually start losing when they add calories because your body no longer thinks you're starving it. You will do good as long as you stay around 1000 calories and get some walking in..... YOU CAN DO THIS!

Don't worry about day to day weight. I got really obsessive with the scale for the first two weeks. My Dr. told me to weigh no more than twice a week since everyone fluctuates daily. Best advice I ever got. I'm much happier now that I relaxed a little.

Thanks for the encouragement! I haven't walked as much as I should yet, so maybe that is part of it. I also need to move the scale or force myself not to get on it everyday. It's just so hard when you hear that others are losing so much more than you are since surgery. Thanks again.

Great idea! I hope that I can adjust to not jumping on the scale everyday. I think it is a bad habit I got into to make sure I wasn't gaining during the time before surgery.

OMG' date=' surgery (band to bypass) is in 3 days!! I'm starting to freak out. This is normal, right?? I'm so excited and trying not to let my nerves get the best of me and doubt my decision. It has helped so much reading your stories so far and seeing that you've made it through it ok! Prayers appreciated![/quote']

I had my conversion from band to RNY last week. I felt the same way as you beforehand. It is normal. You will do great!! I haven't weighed yet as I told myself I would weigh the first time one week after and then only twice per week going from there. I will not obsess over the scale this time or make myself crazy. Im just going to follow the rules and be confident it will come off.

Good Luck and know I will keep you un ny prayers!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
