Does anyone else have problems with reheated foods? Last week I ate a piece of juicy chicken and saved some for the next day. The left overs made me vomit. Then the same happened a few days later. Yesterday I cooked an awesome salmon. Saved some for lunch. Just ate it and now I'm so uncomfortable and vomiting again. Could it be that my pouch is rejecting left overs? Or maybe it's the microwave drying out the food?

Thanks!

I thought it was just me. Leftovers make me sick. Even cold things like chicken salad. Idk what that's about but it's weird.

The high temp of the microwave kills any bacteria. Also my fridge temp is below bacteria growing temp.

I made taco meat tonight and will eat it again for lunch tomorrow to make sure it's not a moisture issue. If I get sick again I'm done with leftovers! My dogs are gonna love all the extra food!

Well, Bacteria can definitely grow in a refrigerator, even in restaurant quality coolers and more so than the level of heat something is reheated at is a length of time at certain heat that would kill any bacteria that may have settled. One other thing that can help is making sure its not still hot when you pit it in the fridge. Either way I was just trying to be helpful. I am super sensitive to re-heated food too, so I hope you are able to figure it out, or that your animals enjoy it!

same here, what works for dinner one night will not work for lunch the next day. I kind of blame it on the microwave in some situations, like meats. I have never been a real lover of leftovers, but not for any particular reason. And now leftovers don't like me.

The left overs are probably too dry. The same thing has happened to me with meatloaf.

I bought a bariatric cookbook. It says any microwaved leftovers would be too tough so it suggests keeping gravy or dressings on hand to eat with it to soften it up. I had some salmon that was tough the next day and was not working out but then ate it with some tartar sauce and went down fine.

I agree! I think it's a moisture problem. I was able to eat very moist left overs today. I added some Water and a damp paper towel in the microwave. It went down much better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
