Hey all, Just thought Id throw in a little Valentines day fun!!!!!! I saw a thread on here, about people and their pets, having other names for their pets rather then what they were named int he begining...sorta "pet" names for your pet. So i was thinking the other day, that i hadnt saw a thread on Human Pet Nams. Do you have a pet name for your significant other? I and my boyfriend, who is on this board also, some of you may have seen his posts, his sn is Sin, we have pet names for each other. He calls me Baby, Hunny, Squishy, Wifey, Cookie. I call him pumpkin Butt, Sugar Bear, Hubby, and Crumbs. Kinda cheesy right? But it just isnt right if we dont call each other those names. It doesnt feel right. So the question is, If any of you really want to dish, Do you call your significant other any pet names, If so what are they, If not do you think pet names bring couples closer together? Just a little fun for any of you bored bandsters out there. Have fun with it, and I look forward to some of the responses. HAVE FUN!!!!!!

DH calls me "Woman"---all cave man like! Dates back over 25 years, to when we were quite young, and he referred to me as 'his woman', and made everyone just roar laughing. So he has always called me that. Makes my SIL nutso, she thinks it is so degrading---I love it! A few months ago I almost lost him, and as he lay in a coma in a hospital bed, that is what I prayed to hear again, was him to call me "Woman" again.....my prayers were answered!!!

For the most part, I call him "Hon"....I vary it occasionally, with the usual "Babe", or even occasionally the ever loving "SmartAss"....but more often than not it is "Hon".

Nicknames, private little signals, communicating without actual words---they all make a couple closer I would think, simply because you get them from spending time with one another.

I think pet names are fun and just good ol teasing of each other.:clap2:

Not really a pet name but DH calls me "b". That started as "baby", but with his accent it sounded more like "beahbee", and over the years just shortened to "b". But if he calls me that around others, they always think he's calling me "bee" (as in buzz buzz) and can't figure out why.

I have a pug dog that is so cute. Originally I wanted to call her Princess but because she is so tiny I call her Peanut. It suits her much better and its fun.

I call my hubby "big daddy". He was so much bigger than me when we first married, muscle wise, (6 ft tall, 250lbs) and it's kind of stuck. He has so many names for me.. He used to call me his "pornstar" in reference to the snowboarding clothing line -I loved it. He calls me "princessa" a lot as well. He is from Panama and believes in taking care of me like a princess. We call each other "momma" and "papa" a lot as well, just a carry over from the kids I guess...

LOL!! Sissy! I call my hubby "big daddy" too!! He's 16 years older than me so it's more of a joke about our age difference.

I also call him IKE...an acronym for I Know Everything!

My husband and I call each other Billy, it was a joke from long ago and it has just stuck. We have even gone as far as calling our daughter little billy. We also have a cat named billy....he was adopted and that was already his name, it was just meant to be.

The story goes like this. My niece (3 at the time) was in love with a neighbor boy, named billy, he was a real tough boy, always climbing and getting hurt. She would stand at the fence and say "tarefull billy" when he would do anything dangerous. One day my future hubby was leaving my house on his motocycle, and I called out the window "tarefull billy" and it stuck. When I was in labor, my dh was calling me billy and the nurses looked at us like we were crazy. It's also funny to see the 3 of us in Disney, all calling each other Billy, which my daughter calls us instead of mom and dad. funny huh? ~Mandy

I call my husband "phillie", which is what his grandmothercalled him when he was young. He really did not like it, but when he told me about it, I called him that as a joke, but then now it has kind of stuck around. He says he does not bug him any more!

He calls me "baby". But, lately he calls me "my shrinking baby".

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
