Well I live on flexeril every night and vicodin when I can't take the pain anymore. But then again my issue isn't everyday aches and pains. Id give anything to take Advil again!

Are you able to swallow a pill now. I guess that's what I'm really afraid of

I would try a mild muscle relaxant and Tylenol.I don't have a problem with pills, either, except time release ones; they don't absorb cirrectky.

Exactly in the time release ones, I'm not allowed to use them ever again.

Hello all my fellow April surgery people!!!!!

I'm Melissa and I had surgery April 8th 2013! The surgery itself went fantastic I went in on Monday and left on Wednesday!! However a week later I was in the ER with stomach pain and I wasn't able to get fluids in!! They did a CT scan and found I had two blood clots, one in my messentary artery to my stomach and one in my liver (not from surgery) found because my new tiny tummy was losing blood flow due to that clot! So I was admitted again for 5 extra days where I was put on heparin! Cool thing was that my best friend had surgery (sleeve) on the day I got re admitted and we ended up room mates for 3 of the 5 days I was in!! So I have been on Coumadin for the last 6 months and am off now awaiting blood work for a reason behind the clots!! But my journey has been an interesting one to say the least....about 2 months in I stared puking everything I'd eat with an upper GI found out I had a stricture (scar tissue) in the area where they connected my small intestine to my new tummy!! So I have had that dilated with a balloon endoscope 3 times! But all is good now! I also had abdominal pains and after an ultrasound found out in august my gallbladder needed to be removed....so my gastric surgeon removed it and all seemingly was great til about 5 days later (while on vacation in Chicago) had horrible pains went to the ER to find out I was bleeding internally!!! Yikes (took 5 units of plasma to thicken my blood from all the blood thinners I was on...but after 4 days in the hospital I was released to come home and thankfully I can say now that I am fully healed and feeling like a million bucks! We'll i do love reading about your stories and am glad I found this particular forum so I can read and share what goes on in the daily life and struggles of our gastric journey (makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who goes through stuff) I am also currently at a plateau for almost 2 months now and I've learned to let my body work it's way through it!! We'll thanks for listening (reading actually)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
