So today I received my sleep study the package in the mail from my surgeons office. When I opened it I was very intimidated there's a nasal cannula that not only goes into your nose, but also in your mouth. As well as, a pulse ox that you keep on your finger. I'm really scared I don't know why! I really don't understand how I'm going to be able to sleep with tubing in my mouth and in my nose I'm a wild sleeper I toss and turn a lot and I sleep with my mouth open. I'm scared lol any suggestions? Did anyone else is at home sleep study equipment sounds similar? Thanks for all your input :-)

This will turn out to be very valuable for you. I did not have to use the nasal canula, but I do use a Bipap machine now. My doctor had me do an at home study with the oximeter and we discovered that my oxygen level does drop at night. Now I use my bipap, as well as 2 liters of oxygen per night. Now that we have recalibrated, I have to go back and get another oximeter and do the overnight study again.

Even though it seems as if it will be a nuisance, it is so worth it. You may discover that you have sleep apnea on top of other issues which makes it more difficult to lose weight and stay awake during the day, etc. I use a full face mask at night since I breath through my mouth if I don't and after you fall asleep it really isn't annoying. Just make sure you are relatively tired when you go to bed when you do the study. It will turn out fine.

I had the nasal canula, the pulse ox for my finger and a little machine that strapped around my chest. I slept in the spare bedroom so I could move around. I didn't sleep well that night, but then I wasn't sleep good anyway! I broke the record for the worst sleep study in the practice! they ordered my cpap machine the next day!!!

Ok a, so today I dropped off my completed sleep study test diagnostic machine , through the FedEx Express Mail Box. I'm wondering how long it's going to take for them to give me my results and let me know if I indeed have sleep apnea or if I do not. It honestly was not bad. I took nyquil will so that I could fall asleep .I had a nasal cannula that also had a piece that went into my mouth. There was also a little machine that I have this strap onto my chest which the nasal cannula was connected into and also the test included a pulse ox monitor. Ion Isley slept very deeply thanks to the nyquil so ,it wasn't a big deal to have the cannula into my nose and mouth or the thing strapoed on my finger . I guess I'm just really nervous to find out the results. Hopefully they don't take too long.

I hated my cpap, I ended up returning it because I was not sleeping well while using it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
