So here I go since this is part of my recovery and new journey in life. I am offically down 80lbs surgery was Nov 6, 2012. I have been doing great getting Protein in no ,major issues. I am moving as we purchased a house out of town close to my work. Blah just spit it out and stop. for the last two nights I ate chocolate covered Cookies. Last night I took them and hide them in my blanket so the kids could not see me and hubby was in the shower. I know I shouldnt and I know I had this surgery to make my health issues result and live a long health life. As pasrt of my recovery I need to admit to my failures and move on. Be accountable for my actions. Writting this I feel shame but I had to so that everyone else knows that this is not the easy way out that we have ups and downs. I dont want to lie to myself and say its ok because one would have been ok but 8 not ok and Im still thinking of eating more when I go home. Which I am not going to. I just wanted to air my dirty laundry . All comments weather good or bad are taken in a good way. I am not looking for pitty or anything like that I just waned to be accountable. I am moving close to Barrie and think its time I get in to a support goup and not just online.

We all slip up. If you can tolerate them allow yourself one or two a week as a job well done for sticking to your plan the rest of the week. Don't beat yourself up.

Shame on you!!! Okay, so a couple Cookies won't kill you, but you need to get it under control before it becomes a habit. You know it was a bad choice, put down the Cookies and walk away!!! What worries me the most is that you hid the cookies from your family....makes me think there's more going on then just 'damn I want a cookie....' Take care of yourself and step away from the cookies! (And don't hide!!!!).

I have had 3 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in my house this week. I haven't eaten any, but girl I know how hard it is to say NO. Don't beat yourself up, and it is good that you aired it out. Next time think "Are these Cookies worth sabotaging everything I have achieved for myself". Hang in there, we all stumble!

We sold them at work for a fundraiser. I had to help deliver. I drove around for two hours with those darn things in my car. I thought I was gonna have to stop at my docs office and attend a support group! LOL

In the words of Dr. Dre- starting today and tomorrow's the new. You can do it- move on and regain focus!

I'm with Pam. We're still living in the real world. You had 8 Cookies. A bit much? Okay. It was impulsive and probably coming from old habits and deprivation. If you've been sticking to your plan, exercising, losing, etc it's okay to allow yourself a sensible treat every now and then. Don't deprive yourself completely and set yourself up for things like this later. If you think about it, one cookie would have probably been enough if you took the time to eat it slowly, taste it, and really enjoy it. Don't beat yourself up and try not to feel guilty. Really. It's done. Just keep it pushing. On to the next...

I eat treats every now and then. Just don't over due it.

Now hiding the Cookies from family is something different and something you should work on.

I can't tell you how many boxes of chocolate bars have been going around my office the last few months from at least four different co-workers' kids. Finally, at the end of a super tough day, I bought one (See's). I broke off the first piece and shared the others with three co-workers. I sat and enjoyed the heck out of that piece of chocolate and felt no shame and moved on. Allowing myself to have a moment like that probably prevented me from eating two whole bars later.

We're all learning as we go. No one who's been through this ever said it was easy especially with the added stress you've been under. You're what - 80 pounds down? Girl, please! You'll be alright.

And Congratulations on the house!

We had some of those at work a few days ago. I think I just stood over them and stared for awhile and I definitely sniffed them before returning to my desk. Lol!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
