Recommended Posts

I got my surgery on Wednesday March 6, i know from being in the hospital and being pumped up with fluids you leave the hospital 10 lbs heavier. But my question is? When do you start losing weight?

You are asking a very good question that I would like to have an answer too. I am having my surgery on Monday March 11th and really would like an answer as well. Hang in there and I hope you are doing well. I think I will keep off the scale until I have my first visit with my surgeon.

I had surgery on March fourth and I'm getting concerned because I haven't lost any weight either. I'm getting a little depressed about it and when I'm depressed I usually eat and I can't eat so now I don't know what to do because I can't hardly move I'm still in some pain. I still walk like I'm supposed to you and have been doing everything I'm supposed to do. Is thanks to be frustrated this early in the game. 5 days since surgery

I also had my surgery on March 4th. I came home weighing 11 pounds more than I did the day of surgery. This morning the sale was back to where I was the day of surgery. I'm hoping it starts going down from here.

So far I have not gone below my preop weight and I have also not had a bm yet. I hope these two have something in common. Glad there are others with the same surgery date. The left side of my bellybutton seems tight like its my stomach and it always feels full. I am getting concerned. Took Miralax and stool softener this morning and nothing so far. Don't think it's a blockage because I have occasional gas.

Asked the doc, stomach has relocated to the immediate left of my belly button right where my pants waist hits! Great! So much for a small waist. Guess we'll see.

One day. ..you have lost 26lbs in two weeks?! That's amazing. And great. Disappointed about the stomach thing. Surprised it was not mentioned in ANY preop stuff I did. Sorry it seems like forever, if it helps, I still have insane cravings on a full stomach. Sad. Its all in my head. 26 lbs before April sounds great! P90x can't do that!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
