That is awesome! I had RNY on May 13th, 2013 also at Unity in Fridley by Dr. Baker. Have you had your surgery yet?

Hi I'm a Minnesota too. I went to unity too & had Dr. July. I'm kinda concerned about the all liquid diet. I was told drink Water every 15 minutes & I've done this religiously. I've had chicken broth? ??? and sugar free hot coco & add it to lactose free milk. I'm so tired of eating these things. I've looked up support about first weeks & any good clear liquid ideas. But so many aren't following what is written & told to do. I'm not a goody too shoes, but to take this weight off. I've not had the full feeling that I was told I would. I'm starving all the time. Ugh ! Am I doing this wrong? Can I eat more the the 3 times a day ? I mean during my water every fifteen minutes or after? Like Jello or do you know of anything els I could eat along with the Clear Liquids. Also have either of you had the feeling of being hungry all the time.

I am in South St. Paul and pre-op. Planning to have my surgery at Abbott Northwestern with Dr. Raymond Drew. Has anyone had their WLS at Abbott or with Dr. Drew? Not far from scheduling surgery, only 5 lbs to lose and 1 more psych visit to make it through.

I live in La Crosse, WI but will be having surgery at mayo Clinic in Rochester in 2015, but a date has not yet been set. Currently, I'm a couple weeks away from finishing up the behavior modification counseling and trying to gather as much information as possible. I look forward to hearing about all of your accomplishments! :D

We have a Twin Cities B-Pal Sleevers group that meets once a month. We shuffle between St Louis Park, Fridley and now Roseville. We are a pretty small group and very supportive of each other's successes!

This Saturday, February 21st - we are meeting at Good Earth restaurant in Roseville at 10am. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Hi! My name is Kim. I live in NE. I had RNY surgery in October 2009 and my surgeon was Dr. Drew at Abbott. Your in good hands. Excellent Doctor! My advice; get out of that bed and walk. It helps. 3 days you'll start to feel better. 3 weeks you'll feel like a whole new person! Best of luck!

I think you need to cut down on your water! No drinking 30 minutes before and after eating. I think your washing the nutrients right out of your system! No wonder your hungry. Protein first then veggies. As little carbs as possible! Hi, by the way! I'm Kim and I live in NE MPLS. A clear liquid that saved me; Jello and, add crystal light to you water, many good flavors. Up your Protein in your drink and it wouldn't hurt to call your nutritionist . I take it after re-reading your post you can't have solids yet. You may be ready to blend some solids, but again check first!

I'm in Woodbury, east of the twin cities :) I am 1 month post op RNY.

I had dr Kelly at St Joes. I'm really lucky to have such an amazing program and I hope everyone has the best of luck on their journeys! It's a huge adjustment but it's so worth it if you are ready for it!

If anyone wants to meet up! I would be more than excited to!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
