Terry

I did tell my dad, have not told step mom but dad knows and was a little iffy at first but supportive

My friend is going to bring me, I don't expect her to stay the entire time as I will be in recovery for 3+ hrs, my friend was in recovery waiting for a room for 5 1/2 hrs YUCK

But now that my dad knows, I think I am going to have him come bring me my bag so I can have stuff. I just want my ipod because I know I will sleep off the drugs -

Hello everyone and thanks for the words of encouragment.

I am having trouble with this Yogurt and Cottage cheese diet that TLBC has me on. Cottage Cheese reminds me of many fialed diets and well yogurt is yogurt, either you like it or you don't.

I have actually lost about 10 pounds over the last couple of weeks due to a virus so all that should count towards my preperations, right? I will figure something out, I always do. I really want to do this, I have been thinking about it for two years and I finally had enough and booked. I am not afraid of the liquid diet after banding, that makes sense. What I am having trouble with is going from KFC one day to Yogurt and Cottage Cheese the next!

No one said it would be easy.

Hi everyone,

I will be in the hospital one night. What should I bring? Should I bring PJ's, books, etc...all that crap or will I sleep all day from the drugs? I know I have to walk, can I wear sweats? I don't want to wear a nightgown. Just woke up and had these thoughts...of course I just woke up and popped on here, lol.

Welcome to all the April bandsters just joining our family!

Pamela

I just had a friend have surgery on Wed. She brought books, Ipod, pj's

she was out of surgery at 3 at very awake and alert at 7:30.

Me on the other hand will sleep the day away I am sure. She was allowed to go home the next day after she could drink and hold down 1ltr of Water.< /p>

I hope that helps a little. I am going to visit her on Monday and i'll put some helpful stuff in a post

Good Morning Everyone

Welcome Dave & Pat

Pat - did you read all our post, I was freaking out last week for the same reasons. But much calmer now, and even better since I actually was with someone who had it done this week.

I am so glad I decided to tell people. Last night I had to go get my piercings changed for surgery and the girl who did it asked what king of surgery I was having, so I told her, her boyfriend was thinking about doing it but was on the fence about surgery. She asked me to check in with her and let me know how I make out. I'll check in because as we all know you shouldn't wait, it is the greatest thing - but she will see me again when I get to the point that I get my bellybutton re-pierced.

Happy Saturday

Hey Jen,

How long have you had your belly button pierced? If it's been awhile, you really shouldn't need to have it re-pierced but perhaps stretched with a special tool they use. I have had mine for 10 years, but had to take it out with all 3 of my pregnancies and have never had much trouble getting them back in. Also, you could use one of the plastic or acrylic retainers to hold your piercing. I had my nose re-pierced about a month ago after having it fall out while washing my face two years ago (it closed up quick, but it was only about 3 weeks after having it done.) I've changed the ring 3 times this time around without problem, but I will be wearing a clear retainer for my procedure unless they give me grief about it. (I just had oral surgery with the retainer in and had no problems.) You can easily find them online. (I also sell body jewelry--and have some cute dangles when you're ready to put it back in! LOL) I'm just shameless, I know!

Heather,

I do need to have it re-pierced, it was not done right the first time and got caught on my pantyhose and ripped so i need to go behind the scar tissue

Shameless, .... hummmmmmmm... my bellybutton was not what was changed. LOL

do you have a site that you sell jewerlry?

They could not put the spacer in last night becuse it was too far off, but they did change it from gold to sergical stainless steel and said i should be ok, so I am going to call surgeon Monday. But I had one of the pressure hoops so I could not get it off - at least now I have a barbell so I can change myself..

So everyone

It is almost April. I am done with all of my appts and don't have to go back until the day of surgery.

I am so excited but don't know if I am even remotely close to being ready.

I need to focus and get my house clean - get caught up on Homework - and make sure I am ready.

My main concern is getting my bedroom ready, I had previous surgery and my only major issue was climbing into bed, so I want to make sure I am ready up there.

I bought tons of Water bottles and some propel and crystal light green tea to add to the water bottles, chicken broth, Jello and popcicles.

I am just a little overwhelmed and don't know where to start and 23 days will be up before I know it and I will be gone for 10 of them.

Deep breath....

Tomorrow I am going to get some homework done and get my room ready. then go from there. I think I need to make a plan to do 1 major thing every day and check it off as I go.

Doesn't help my mom is coming to town on Friday and will be here until I leave for Vacation, so I am sure I won't get much done when she gets here

LOL

Happy Saturday!!!!!!!!! Welcome to all the new people! I hope I got everyone added to the list!

I am currently at my sisters for a bbq while the KU game is on, so I'm on here! LOL.......... I busted out the news in mid bite to those there... it got real quiet and but nothing negative.

Kity:

Hopital.... I'm bringing stretchy pants, a sports bra, and a large t-shirt, hard sf candy, a magazine, some socks in lieu of slippers (as I am a hillbilly at heart) LOL

and to the belly piercing.......... I'm of the mind, if I get down enough to get it peirced and tatted I"M IN:Banane20: AND I WILL BE FLAUNTING IT BABY!!!!!:whoo:

Speaking of flaunting........I went to a training today (all day). I almost got in there late, so to not be dragging myself across others, I sat, at a near to the door seat. AND wouldn't you know it......in they hauled...and placed right next to me....bagels, pastries, coffee, sodas, cream cheese (6 kinds):omg:,FLAUNTING IT, and being on my "one small meal daily" pre-op diet..........IF, I have one, that's IT for the whole day,RIGHT?

OK I was strong.......enough....to .....last ..........45minutes .......next ......... to ......the ......freshly ...... baked ........yummy.....smelling .....delightful .....looking ....steamy ....warm...you get the idea, after watching everyone enjoy them like there was no Tomarrow, I did panic, as if there would never be another bread item on earth!!!!!!:cry

But, that is all I did consume for solids. Not a very sensible choice--but, I didn't completely blow it.:rolleyes

Well, I just got home from my really, truly LAST SUPPER. I'm not on a strict pre-op diet like most, except that I cannot have any red meat for....well, for a really long time. We had this dinner planned with some friends long ago....before I even scheduled surgery....at it was at the finest steak house in the city. I won't go into details....that would just be cruel...but I did enjoy every single bite. I have been practicing eating small bites and very slowly (putting my fork down) and I was most definitely the last one to finish by at least 15 minutes. I felt good that I had made at least that much progress. Starting tomorrow I have to get really serious. 10 days to surgery. 10 days. 10 days. 10 days. Wow. I'll be going to the grocery store and the drug store to stock up on needed items because won't be able to do it next wknd. This is getting kinda freaky.

Mazie - you did real good. Better than I could have done. You should be proud of yourself! Take heart in every victory....like I did with my fork tonight.

Tracy - Sorry about the Kansas game :girl_hug:

Jenn - Where are you going on vacation? Do you live in NYC?

Dave - Yogurt and cottage cheese are two of my favorite foods for Breakfast, but only with fruit and Splenda mixed in. Maybe you'd like to try that. I use fresh or frozen strawberries or blueberries, or canned lite pears....really, it is so good! And the blueberries are excellent antioxidants. I add whey Protein Powder for an extra boost so for a cup of cottage cheese I get about 30 grams of protein!!

Night-night buddies. Manana.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
