My sister and her best friend just started a colon cleansing program

Colon Cleansing, Constipation, IBS, Colonix, Cleanse, Detox – Online Resource and I am about ready to try it myself, I wonder if it would be ok for us! I'm guess it would be since we have all our innards.

I will warn you the pics on the website are DISGUSTING so if you thought my surgery pictures were gross..... BE WARNED.....

I will also say that my sis (who is only on day two) is already a believer.. she's had bathroom problems her ENTIRE LIFE... she used to run from my grandma if she had a bar of soap in her hand! LOL sad but true.

Feed back anyone????

TRACY

I have that stuff here and this is what i have to say about it. I used it and didn't really lose any weight but - it did get me back to normal. It does not taste fantastic but mixed with oj it taste like a think bananna orange drink, I have texture issues. I got the complete package and that is actually where i got my "special" tea from I talked about back in the beginning days of this thread after my trip to VA. Anyone remember that???

I have a full month supply of the cleanse stuff left, it would be very filling and full of Fiber.< /p>

Congrats on the jeans, I can't wait til I can wear my 16's I have a closet full of work clothes, right now I don't know what I'd wear to work. lol

I think the clothes are a reinforcer for all of us. The smallest clothes I have are a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans size 14 short. I can't wait to create a new "look" for me. Usually for me, once I hit the regular sizes, I will change size every 14 pounds lost. It is a little different in the big sizes, especially with elastic waists. I can wear a smaller size, because I have no butt but a large waist.

Isn't it fun to talk about clothes instead of always focusing on weight.

In that spirit, I went and had a "make over" at the Macy's store, Lancome was doing them and I got some new make up tips. It was fun to play grown up.

Hugs,

This is one of my favorite quotes and I thought I would share:

It's true that we don't know what we have until we've lost it, but its even more true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives!!

I know I do not post as much as alot of you but I read all the time and I am so glad that we have each other to lean on. I feel like I know all of you!! I am so happy this evening and I just wanted to share my happiness. (hugs)

OMG! In the spirit of Spring and new beginnings and feeling all proud w/my bad self on all of Day 3 of liquids what did I do?? I had my hair chopped off into a cute, funky short style! :) i wish I'd thought to take a "before" pic w/my old boring mom style hair so that I could show you guys them both... I'll check on the 'puter to see if I can find anything, but I'm not holding out hope as I avoid the camera as much as possible. I'll get someone to take a pic tonight & I'll try to post them tomorrow. What fun! I feel so light & free & short & sassy!

Feed back anyone????/quote]Tracy, I looked at the website for quite some time and the 'hard sell' tactic made me pretty suspicious. I searched some message boards and other sites as well. Apparently there is an ingredient in the colonix that creates a "cast" of the intestines over time and that is what is in these wierd BM's.

So then I went to WebMD to see what they had to say about colon cleansing and it's probably worth a read: Colon Cleansers: Are They Safe?

I, for one, think that colon cleanses are a bunch of hooey. The safer alternative would be to take regular doses of fiber (psyllium).

I would suggest getting a colon cleansing at a spa. They put Water "up there" then suck it out. They massage your tummy and thighs and then your "pass" your toxins out! Very healthy, takes about 3-5 sessions, done at many spas, no pills. A bit costly, but VERY productive and successful. My partner did it, and cleared up her skin, and even lost about 10 pounds (she is fit, trim and healthy to begin with). Anyway, that is my 2 cents worth.

Back to my homework!

Hello Violets,

It is good to hear all of you are doing so well! I haven't dropped any sizes, but the ones that I could hardly button are a bit more comfy. I have my first fill tomorrow. I can't wait. I hope he says my incision has healed enough for a fill. Last week he had to cut the initial incision off because it wouldn't heal. This one looks much better. I hope I can get that fill! I have had NO restriction from surgery. Along with that has been NO weight loss since the pre-op diet. At least I haven't gained that weight back. That is a plus anyway! I've been terrible with one thing. I've been drinking Diet Coke again. I know I'll have to stop that when I do get a fill. I tried making it most of the day without any today. I only had one. Along with that I had probably 80oz Water. I guess that will work. I drink a lot of liquids.

Wish me luck tomorrow. Best of luck to all the teachers and students these last few weeks of school. I can't wait for summer vacation. I miss spending the lazy days with my kids!

Thanks for letting me drop in on your periodically. Sorry I am not a more regular poster.

Well, I don't really want to be buying a bunch of new clothes, but I hate wearing clothes that are too big! And I'm an executive secretary so I have to look half-way decent at work. I do have some nice clothes in my close that are from when I weighed 160 4 years ago that were expensive and I refused to give to charity! I think the smallest I have is size 14 reg. However, I am a bit of a closet-cleaner too and I have given away thousands of dollars worth of clothes ...which now makes me ill to think about. I seriously need to clean again but this time my bigger clothes are going to my best friend...so that's OK! I'm glad she can wear them.

I worked with a new personal trainer tonight and he is wonderful!!! I wasn't too thrilled with the other one that I had and was having 2nd thoughts about the whole deal. But "Rory" is great and I'm really looking forward to it now. He's been training for 9 years so he knows what he's doing and is very attentive and NICE. Not an egotistical sadist like some of them are. This last week was pretty painful working those muscles for the first time and going thru that initial soreness (with NO Advil!), but I'm hoping it won't be so bad here on out. Gawd, I hope not!!!

Hey Tekymom,

I have had no restriction since my surgery 4/9/07 either. I've lost and gained like 4lbs but Lord knows I've been eating anything and everything. Let me know how your first fill goes. I"m scheduled for my 1st on the 21st.

Okay I think I win on the clothes. I have a couple of skirts and one shirt when I was in high school. I will be 44 in a week. They are size 9, one is a Gloria Vanderbilt A line skirt and the other is a seersucker skirt that I just love. The shirt is another seersucker, but I remember when I was a sophmore, my best friend and I went shopping with our moms alone, and then called each other when we got back and we both got the same shirt, and since I am so sentimental, I still have the shirt. I wonder if the other girl does (she is still my best friend). What memories, if nothing else this brought back wonderful memories for me!!!! Thanks!!

Jane

I had my first fill yesterday. And as I am a baby when it comes to needles I can truely say that it wasn't thqat bad. First the numbed me and after that they found my port which was about 3 inches to the left ov my navel. Felt a lot of pressure as they filled it but no pain.

I was a little sore, ok a lot of sore but nothing to cry about. Looked at the area today and I have a large bruise where I was injected.

I have more restriction now and I'm not very hungry and it doesn't take much to fill me up. I never did get to "bandster hell". I can't chug-a-lug the Water like I use too!

I'll be happy if I can see 2#'s a week off but I'll settle for anything off and nothing gained.:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
