Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

that sounds yummy jennifur....

I REALLY need to get in the shower!!!!

I am so glad to read that everyone is doing so well! I'm kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop, but hopefully I will be like a lot of you and sail right through it........ Yesterday I did push myself to walk AND do that breathing machine that Terri talked about.. those two things have really helped........ and the burping and farting were such a suprise relief! LOL

already left and came home, put my Soup WITHOUT bread and cheese in the bullet.. what a great taste.

I am just relaxing today but tomorrow I need to get up and do house work. YUCK -

My tid bit of advice - when you fell like you need to rest, do it, don't push yourself. I paid for it the last 2 days so I will not try to do it all this weekend. plus, it is raining. LOL

they did change the boards, added Ads in the middle of the forum. Really annoys me.

Take it easy Tracy!! That excruciating pain I had to go to the ER about, didn't hit me till 4 days post-op, and the doctor thinks I was doing too much and pulled something. It's been a week and it's finally dulling, but let me tell you it was MISERABLE. It made me cry when I tried to sleep at night, and if I ate it would make me hate eating from the pain. It's no fun.

Hell, I went to the ER because I thought it could be serious :) And I HATE going to doctors unless I have to (You guys will learn that about me I'm sure, I'm stubborn and unless I think I'll die, I don't go!!)

Jennifur- Sounds yum.. I Just had some split pea Soup blended with Water to a baby food consistency. I'm stuffed. I'm really tired today too, maybe because it's such a nice day and it's Friday and my body likes napping around this time hehe.

Ok

I have made a decision, I am going to get some sleep tonight and tomorrow after I get my house clean (things fell apart here the last 2 weeks) I am going to plug my treadmill in and start walking. I hate that thing but it is easier to do sometimes than loading up the car with the stroller and it is a production. That way I can walk slow and steady inside and be ready to go out.

I need to get motivated again!

...I finally had a salad yesterday...

Michelle

MICHELLE... we were banded on the same day, and I have moved to the mushies/soft foods (per doctors orders) and salad was not on my list... and it is the one thing I am craving like crazy!

were you scared to eat the salad? I am so afraid of stuff getting stuck! I can move on to solids in "one to two weeks" as long as I don't have any problems with mushies... that's maybe when I'll feel confident about salad.

I don't know why I am afraid of salad getting stuck, but I am. I totally have it in my head that it will get stuck. I guess you didn't have any problems, huh?

on another note.... I love the name Shrinking Violets!

who else has been banded on 4/12 or around there & how much weight have you lost?

I did 1 month of managed weight loss (Fruits & Veggies & exercise) lost 5 lbs

then got approved for lap band & did 1 week of liquids, lost 7 lb.

I was banded n 4/12 & have only lost 2 pounds-- in two weeks of being on full liquids???? WHATS UP with THAT????

i really expected to have lost more at this point.

Just wondering what others have done.

mmmm.. I can't wait to eat a salad. We grow our own garden & the lettuce & spinach look gorgeous.. I don't really like tomotoes, but I find myself CRAVING to have a salad with tomatoes.

I am also affraid to eat a salad, I guess I have 2 weeks to go before I can have solid foods. Just started mushies THursday. mmmm yogurt, cottge cheese, eggs, oatmeal..... much better than cream of chicken Soup.< /p>

I like shrinking violets too.

Maybe you're losing inches!?! Did you measure yourself before surgery? If so, measure again and see.:)

Thanks Ms Jen.

I did measure, & I know my clothes fit now, rather than cut into my gut.

I mean total I've lost 15 pounds, that's good. but my friends lost 20+ pounds by now. so i'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong or not doing at all.

I get 60+ grams of Protein

Calories equals about 1100-1400 per day.

I also started my period yesterday, so that could contribute to a couple of pounds.

i just had higher expectations.

My 1st goal is to lose 40 pounds by July 13

Everyone is different. I've lost 17lbs and 8 1/2 inches. We didn't gain all our weight in 2wks so we can't expect to loose it all at once that's why we didn't have a RNY. By the way how are you getting in all your calories? Are you excersing?

i keep telling my self that too.

I have been drinking 2 slimfasts a day or 1 slimfast & 1 high protrien shake

2 cups of coffee with sugar free creamer

1 can of cream of whatever Soup with a can of skim milk

1 popsicle

Jello

maybe a glass of skim milk.

Protein Water

plain Water

propel water

That's not a lot. Maybe the slim fast has to many calories/carbs? I have no idea. But if you have lost 15lbs in 2 weeks and you loose 10lbs a month you'll be 45 down. Just be patient.

I'm going to bed now. Have a good night and weekend.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
