Hey, anyone have any ideas...I have not been able to tolerate my Protein Shakes, but have beeb tolerating other fluids fine (except when i drink too fast or something is too cold). Anyways, I had some diet tea with my meds this am and had diaherria all day and nausea for most. Just now I made myself finish my milk that i was sipping on and my muscle milk cause I have yet to get all my Protein in one day. That made me nauseous, bout of the poops, and then I'm fine, but my stomach isn't giving me that ache today and it's worrying me! Lol. Is the ache supposed to go away and then be replaced by nausea and diaherria? Or am I getting messed up somehow with what I'm drinking? Any idea would be appreciated!

I think it might be the milk you are drinking maybe? I can't drink milk very well without getting some diarrhea. Just a thought?

Have you tried Almond or Coconut unsweetened milk? It is lactose free and not too bad tasting either. I was lactose intolerant prior to surgery and I had the same symptoms (diarrhea). Silk milk isnt too bad either...I like the almond and coconut taste more.

I'm having buyers remorse because I chose to do this to myself yes I have lost weight my surgery was 12-3 however my complications I had don't make it seem worth it I'm hurting so bad still and it's kind of upsetting to see that everyone else is having it so easy heck I spent 4 days in ICU and another 4 in a regular room they didn't even want me to go home when I did but I was missing my babies to bad

Southern: it will get better for you. Try not to dwell on the negatives that you are overcoming but try to focus on the positive that the surgery will bring to your life. I have doubts at times and I think everyone does. That is where the mental ups n downs we go thru by having the surgery. We have to adjust to a whole new life style.

If you're the one who nearly died from the complications (sorry I can't remember) then yeah I can see why you would be feeling this way. It's hard because you're right we all did this to ourselves and any complications make it that much harder when most others are going right along. I don't have any awesome words of wisdom for you but I am glad that you are making it through. Try to remember in the grand scheme of things, this period of your life is just a tiny blip on the radar. But here and now, that is easier said than done, I know. If you can try to hold onto the fact of a year from now all this hardship will be a distant memory and you will be well on your way to a new healthier and happier you. Hugs your way.

I had my surgery on the 17 and came home a day early on the 18. I had q pump and morphine pump so no pain at all. Walked the halls and did fine. Now coming home w/0 all that has been a bit different. No bloating, passing gas but terrible pain in my shoulders. Tummy is sore not painful. I am drinking Water and eating Jello. Sat up in chair for a bit but awfully weak. Thanks for all the prayers. They were certainly heard. I have moments of feeling better today.

Simply southern, I had that day yesterday. Cried most of the day wondering why I'd done this to myself. Why did I get so fat in the first place? Why do some people have it so easy with their weight?

I just threw my little pity party and then today woke up with a better attitude. It's okay to have buyers remorse. That's normal and you are not alone in it. Take a day to be mad at the world and hate your decision, just make sure that you move on the next day... Or hour... Just make sure to move on.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
