Hey Everyone,

So today is officially two months post-op for me. I had my RNY bypass surgery on Oct 1st.

Highest weight ever: 261.4

Weight day of surgery: 249.0

Current weight as of today: 220.0

It seems like my progress has been really slow compared to other on rnytalk.com however I am happy with my continuous progress. I so cant wait to get out of the 200s. I have been doing a lot of walking, however my goal for this month is to get even more active in the gym.

Hi Niki,

Its still a challenge for me to meet my protein goal. I try to shot for 60g of protein a day however it seem like I've been getting in about 40-50 a day. The vitamins are a whole different story. Since the surgery i have not been able to tolerate any artificial sweeteners, so i have to force myself to get the chewable vitamins down. To be honest i do forget to take them sometimes because its such a challenge for me. I've even tried crushing them and eating the powder... Hopefully it will get better for me. I might start breaking them in half and see if that helps.

I know what you mean the protein is horrible. I've tried the Protein Shots, the high Protein Drinks, protein pre made shakes all of it taste bad. I get very little protein in and im

trying. I don't know what to do.

Have you tried unflavored Protein Powder? You can mix it in foods like yogurt, mashed potatoes, pudding, cooked Cereal, etc. I use Unjury unflavored. It has 20 grams per serving. I also like mixing plain Greek yogurt with skim milk, frozen fruit... I mix it in the blender. That's 30 grams. Health wise makes drink mix like crystal light that have 15 grams per serving.

Hey October buddies. Returned to work on Nov 26 and it has been hectic. Plus I broke my phone. I haven't lost any weight this week, but i figure that is because I haven't been getting my Protein and Water in since I have been back to work. I will have to do better this week. How is everyone else doing so far?

I am doing better so far since the surgeon did a dilatation on Friday. I sure hope it fixed whatever I was experiencing. I am down 43 pounds total 33 since surgery in 10/29/12.

Has anyone seen my boobs? I seem to have misplaced them because they are surely not on my chest anymore...

Oh, but no worries: my thighs and butt are still right where I left them.

Stalling here too, RhondaWilliams, after only 38 lbs... Maybe the exercise I started is slowing down muscle loss? Hope so. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
