To everyone going to have surgery- it's not as bad as we think. I was off pain meds after 2/3 days. Today is day 4 post op for me. I feel good and don't regret it one bit. It gets hard sticking to the post op diet and I'm sometimes hungry and craving stuff but hey WE DID THIS SURGERY FOR A REASON!! Gotta stick to it. Best of luck to those still recovering!!!! Prayers for a fast healing!!!! Day 4 post op and Iv'e lost 10 pounds

Good idea karma I moved all my meds and things to the kitchen so I would have to get up and I started a journal to keep track of when to take what it is to hard to keep track of all of it unless I write it down

It gets better, walking helps get rid of the gas and promote faster healing. Just walk as much as u can or laps around ur house. Good job girl! :)

Your so good, I weigh everyday. I can't wait till my week 2 post op. that's when I get oatmeal and yogurt. Sticking to liquids is so hard! It's the hardest part of surgery- The post op diet. time needs to fast forward. It does help me to see weight dropping plus I go on instagram and youtube and watch/see weight loss success stories/videos from WLS and GBP :)

I'm doing great! Super excited for the 26th! I was so sick yesterday and last night but I think it was a 24 hour bug. I feel much better this morning. I hope I can keep this positive attitude up all the way till they wheel me into the OR!

Hello November dates,

Who went in last week? I did on Wednesday so I am now six days out, four days home from hospital. Doing ok just a little trouble with my drain. It keeps leaking onto the bandages even though they rest itched it in the hospital.

How is everyone else doing?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
