I took two weeks off. On the day I returned back to work, I got a sharp pain on my upper right side, sludge in my gallbladder was my diagnoses so another 2 weeks for second surgery.

I've seen anything from 1 week to 6 weeks from posts on other boards. Does anyone know an average (if all goes well of course). Just trying to plan for when I get approval and a date.

My surgery date was July 12, 2012, I had planned a week but encountered several complications including a bowel obstruction. My road to recovery has been a long & arduous one but I am finally at the point where I am at 90% & hope to return to work next week, providing my dr gives his ok today at my follow up appt.

I'm glad I was able to take the needed time off to properly recuperate (2 1/2 months), my body needed it ^_^

I quit mine as soon as I found that hubbys insurance covered surgery. I only had been there 3 months and I was having to take days off for this appointment that appointment this test or that and because I wouldn't have been there for a year I was not eligible for FMLA. So after surgery and after I am better I will either one go back to college or get a job. Haven't decided yet. But we sure could use the money it isn't easy at all with just one income

I had my surgery on Aug 21, came home on 23, back to work on 27. My surgeon told me it was up to me and how I felt. Being at work helped me a lot. Was quite careful at the beginning but now am quite normal.

Forgot to say am a university faculty

My Dr says a minimum of 4 week for any of his wls. With gastric bypass, my Dr has a g tube in for a minimum of 4 weeks so I'm planning on taking that and a lil more if I can.

I was planning on 3 weeks because doc said I was still considered a lapband to rny revision. However I ran into complications with an incision infection and then another infection after that. So 6.5 weeks out for me with a sick day mixed in after I got back.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
