Had kinda started a thread earlier however I just want to know what folks are experiencing and how soon are you experiencing sex after surgery?

I was 5 days post op and it was incredably helpful with gas and cramping the next day. Positions can be a little tough but worth it! ????

I was told briefly by my surgeon at my first visit that I couldn't for 4 weeks after surgery. I didn't ask why, but will at my next appointment. I am only beginning my journey.....

As long as you're comfortable have sex whenever you're ready. NOTE my surgeon told me that for 3 months post-op many girls are much more fertile and it's much more likely to get pregnant, so please be careful! Since we can't be on birth control (bc of blood clots) for a month post-op wearing a condom is a must. Also be careful with swallowing, apparently there's 15g/sugar per tablespoon, no one told me and I dumped! Happy humping :]

My dr never told me that. They actually encourages birth control to avoid pregnancies. I have an IUD and am not taking it out lol. I swallowed the other day and luckily it went down fine.. LOL

Babygirl, is that what time frame your surgeon advised? Mine told me 4 weeks. I would think so your stomach muscles wouldn't hurt or tire out so soon....

Wow! I love that this question generated so much info! I had no idea what the sugar intake on semen was...I wonder what the Protein is like if any?! lol

My doc didn't say anything about sex except go at er' when your ready. I was ready, I did. Fertility was mentioned as well so safety is absolutely important.

I had asked my surgeon, she said as soon as I felt comfortable to do it. Unless for some reason I didn't want to then she would tell my hubby 6 to 8 weeks lol she is to funny. We did it about 10 days post op and all was fine:-)

I found this tidbit to your question on how much Protein it may contain:

7.5 samples equals the Protein in a glass of milk.

That would keep someone rather busy obtaining samples, and would probably require more than one source. Volunteers should be relatively easy to find however, making semen an excellent choice for a protein source alternative.

LOL, cute....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
