Oh no! What were your symptoms? Not that I'm hoping I do have one but at least it would be an answer to what's going on. I keep saying that something has to give...I can't keep feeling like this!

Praying everything goes well for you!

Vomiting most if not all foods, eating very little, liquids want to come back up, pain on sides. I never feel like eating because I'm always sick!

Hey everyone..

I'm 5 weeks post op and only lost abt 20 lbs:(

I take my Vitamins, at least 60g of pro daily, I do have room for improvement with exercise & Water intake. I am just so disappointed... I expected so much more! Surg-9/11...SW=244. CW=224

I would appreciate any feedback. Anyone else experience such a slow start??

Thank you Leilani. I've been meaning to send a similar message.

If you want to be added, send me your exact name on FB and a description of your profile picture. You can also private message me as it's a little difficult to keep track of the requests embedded in this thread from my phone. Sorry if I've missed someone!

Maria

My surgery was 9/10 and I haven't lost a crazy high amount either - like 22 pounds. However, according to my doctor, they want to see patients lose 10% of their total excess body weight in first month. I was at about 20% at my rate. I asked about the target for months 2 and 3, and he said everyone's different and will lose at different rates. So....don't be too hard on yourself or try to compare your progress with someone else's. We are all different with different metabolisms, etc. My doctor also warned about a stall at about month 2. You have lost 20 pounds, which is great! It will come off, just hang in there and don't get discouraged!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
