When did people start noticing your weight loss?

Recommended Posts

I've lost 146Lbs. as of yesterday, and I feel great. The cloths do make a difference. Form fitting is the best I think. "I believe in the theory, that if you 've got it,thean flaunt it." I see nothing wrong with that, after all the human body is a wonderful thing to look at. Were all different, but yet were the same.

Lately I have come across some strange people that's all. At the christmas party it was Hy shirley, you lost so much weight, but see ya,

have a Merry Christmas., and they are still sitting at the table. So the hint was for me to keep walking. I did. Just a example of many different attitudes that I have come across. I've been told they are jealous of you, they are afraid

that you will actually look better then them, These are people that I worked with for years, and thought I new.. Shirley..

I get comments mostly from people who see me only weekly. Those who see me daily comment every so often, more likely if I am wearing something fitted. I think it's more "dramatic" if someone doesn't see you constantly. But there are certain things I wear that make it appear more 'outstanding'.

I think I was about 30lbs when people started noticing. the thing that gets me is every once in a while someone will ask me how much i've lost and when i tell them I get the "no way!". Hell yes, I did. You just can't tell because it's a drop in the bucket!

I had a few people notice at 20lbs loss but it wasn't until I hit 40lbs when my weightloss became a topic of everyday conversation with various collegues. I really didn't take notice myself until recently after a shopping trip.

I have heard this comment several times and just don't understand it......I am 5' and pre band I weighed over 218...but many people told me that I carried (or hid) the weight very well...????? So, for me.....I didn't start receiving comments or compliments until I had lost at least 20 lbs....now, over 83 lbs lost a lot of people don't recognize me who haven't seen me in 6 months.

I've only lost 19lbs so far. My pants are not as tight. I see it in my face and gut. It sucks that we lose weight from top to bottom cause i got the big butt and thighs. So nobody has noticed yet. It will take another 20lbs before anyone notices my loss. But so what at least we are losing...yahoo!!!

Also, keep in mind that therer may be people who dont feel comfortable giving out compliments. Weight can be a touchy subject for many people and they may notice, but are not too "free" with the compliments.

Ambrosia: Thanks for the compliment, You bet I'm proud. I learned that if we are not loseing weight, were loseing inches. So it's a Win, Win Situation. That's why I say "Lucks got nothin to do with it." It's what you do that counts. Shirley....

Once I hit about 40 pounds lost people started commenting. I have a guy that I work with (he's one of the bosses) who is just shocked everytime I see him... (about every other week) and always asks how much I've lost now. When I went to my company xmas party in December there were several people there who had no idea who I was.... geez... I don't look that different!!

All I can say is I would rather have people say nothing than say

" Wow, you've lost a TON of weight, you used to be huge":omg:

That's why I think people often don't say something at first even if they notice. I almost never comment when I see that someone has lost weight because it is like an acknowledgement that they needed to lose weight. I know that we would like to have people notice, but I can understand why people don't say a lot, especially at first.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
