What's Been The Hardest?

Recommended Posts

FYI Bernie, I took myself off of my cpap about six weeks ago. When I saw my primary a couple of weeks ago I told him that I had stopped using the cpap and that I sleep like a baby. He checked my throat and said that he could see no "obstruction" usually associated with sleep apnea. He ordered a new sleep study for me just to be on the safe side but it's not scheduled for a few weeks yet. I'm confident that the apnea is gone - I haven't had any problems at all since I dropped the cpap.

Hi' date=' as some of you probably know I haven't had surgery yet. I'm not even scheduled yet.

I'm wondering what has been the hardest for you to get used to. Is it drinking slowly, not drinking while eating, not liking food you used to love? Things like that. What have you had to really adjust in your life? Other than portion size, cause that's a given <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

For me it's not drinking while eating. But at first it was learning to drink slowly, taking sips.

I just want to let everyone know that getting off your CPAP cold turkey isn't a good idea. Someone I know did that an since she was dependent on the machine to keep her airways open at night, the airway collapsed and she died. Please see your doctor as you need to be weaned off the machine.

I use cpap. I would never take myself off. One of the members did. He said his pop dint see a restriction. That's probably true but you should have another sleep study to make sure. I went to my sleep doctor and she lowered my pressure and I have o go ack in six months or if I have any problems.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
