This is exactly why I'm here. So glad I decided to find some online support. As you can tell, I'm totally new. First post ever. But the raw emotions have me pretty freaked out. I never realized just HOW dependent I was on food for my emotions, and BAM. Now that I'm not eating like that, I'm faced with dealing with everything with no crutch. Feel like I've given up everything I found pleasure in, my coffee, soda, food, carbonation in general (can't even have that beer). ARG.

I'm 4 months out and I am still dealing with this. I have lost my crutches and still looking for ways to deal with emotions and activities to replace boredom eating. Others have reassured me that it really will get better. Hang in there! You are not alone.

Oh, I'm a pathetic, sodden-faced, snot-filled, gastric reflux infested mess at least once a day... I feel it well up. I am ashamed to say it, but the X Factor made me cry yesterday. If you knew what I did for a living, you would find that hysterically funny...

In hindsight, I know I do...

Well then, a tough girl with a soft spot for X-factor!!! :-)

lol Well, if it was American X Factor, I'd probably be crying, having to suffer through Demi Lovato contributing absolutely NOTHING of value to well, anything.

As it stands, it was UK X Factor and I was crying because this one guy sang so utterly beautifully (which is the bit that made me cry).. and then the short Irish midget Louie Walsh, decided to send him home - probably because he wasn't thin and like Justin Bieber (which then made me angry - because I absolutely loathe Justin, I need to be kicked repeatedly in the head, Bieber).

Clearly I am more comfortable with the latter emotion than the former!

ROFLMAO! Honestly you should do comedy! I feel the same way about "King Bieber". Who has their hired help carry them on the Great Wall of China???!!! Inflated ego much??

Oh, don't get me started on the Bieber... His attendance at boxing fights, his spitting on his fans... His trousers down by his ankles and walking like some sort of deformed chimp... I wish he'd just do the world (or namely, me) a favour and just end it all in a cliched drug fueled orgy in an overly-priced hotel room with his homies and his hoes...

<and breathe....>

Yes, I'm two weeks out too and I just want to cry, no reason at all. Only thing holding back the tears are being at work.... I don't even know why I want to cry, I just do. I hope you're feeling better.

I'm one week out and I'm emotional about other things not food or the surgery I think I've always been there for others so I thought I would have a strong support system but I'm noticing now I don't I'm so use to doing things for myself to going to depending on others to take me around or get me to the dr it's bothering me when no one cares and act like its a bother to them.

No pain the last couple of days but these liquids have me feeling defeated...I have 2 weeks of clears. I don't feel like there's enough nutrients for me to even function. Just trying to avoid re-admission to the hospital at this point. Everyone who was sleeved around the same time I'd on full liquids and preparing to go to mushies next week...it's depressing!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
