Does it go away? I know I'm not physically hungry, but seeing commercials for food or hearing about food is driving me crazy! I am only 2 days post op, and really wasn't expecting this to be such a constant challenge. I know there is no way I could actually eat a cheeseburger right now, but I'm still craving it like crazy. Is anyone else experiencing or has experienced this?

All the time. I just try to focus on other stuff. I hope it goes away.

I never noticed how many food commercials were on until I had surgery. haha And I started pinning tons of new recipes on pinterest - my friends thought I was nuts!! 6 weeks out and Im starting to make some of those recipes now - but of course I can only eat 4 oz of it. Just focus on your food plan and take some laps around the house during commercials!

Pinterest has some great recipes there. So glad that we have a tool like that to use.

One think that annoys me about food. It shouldn't, but it does.

On Facebook, all my friends that post pictures of their meals, or their check-ins on restaurants.

It use to be nothing, but now I notice it more, a lot more! Oh well. Gotta deal with the obvious.

I haven't watched him for awhile but Dr Phil says food is some peoples drug of choice, & when they are trying to diet or just eat right, it's everywhere! No avoiding it.

We just have to find good alternatives. We also have a great tool, that will help the process.

Oh man, I couldn't watch any TV except for home & garden shows for the week after surgery - any picture of food felt like it was directly designed to torment me and only me. :)

It does get better, promise. Tho I occasionally want to throttle my husband when he comes home and instantly has his snack of gingersnaps. (And I don't even like gingersnaps that much!)

Thank you everyone for your input! I'm now 4 days post op and its getting easier. Weird how the last 4 days has really made me come to terms with my addiction to food.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
