I cant stand liquids

Recommended Posts

Been on liquids 2 weeks pre op + 1 week post op.... I cant do it anymore. Someone else feels the same?

I hate them too. I have to stick with it though. I cant take the risk of a leak.

Everyone feels this way. You're almost at the pureed phase. Keep up with the program, it's very important.

My program was as follows;

2 week before surgery - Meal Replacement shakes

Day before surgery- Clear Liquids

Post-op

Week 1 -2: liquid diet

Week 3: pureed phase

Week 4 - 5: soft food

Week 6 and beyond: all food as tolerated

The time feels like forever now, but you'll be on soft foods in no time.

Your new pouch is at a higher risk for leaks until 6 weeks post op.

If you go too fast you can cause a hole between staples or displace the staples which can lead to a hole and a leak. You dont want this...its no good.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
