I had a great experience with glue. My 4 tiny incisions are nearly invisible. I know that if you have an allergic reaction to the glue it can be a mess. I would guess that steri strips are another option, but I would never want anything other than glue. It's amazing stuff.

Are you asking about the glue on the outside or the glue they can use on the stomach itself? I am asking to have the glue and the staples or sutures, however they do it, because I hear you have less chance of a leak

I had glue on the outside of all 5 of my incisions. Love the glue because previously I've had staples/stitches and I HATE when they have to take those out. I'm four weeks out today (YAY!!) and I still have glue on one incision but it's starting to flake off finally.

Your MD will decide based on you and his/her preferences. Both work fine. I had glue.

I have staples on my sleeve and had dissolvable stitches right underneath my skin and glue on top of the skin. I asked for the glue because I'm allergic to surgical tape. I was very pleased with my decision. The scars are very small and almost unnoticeable. Staples on the outside scared me because I didn't want them yanking them out while I was awake. They'd have to put me under again. LOL!

Glue for me and it was great. The scars are minimal ever after only 5 weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
