FINALLY sleeved!

Recommended Posts

YAY! I'm finally an official sleever! I had my band out in June and there was erosion so my surgeon wanted to wait on the sleeve. I went in on 8/29 and finally the deed was done!

The night of surgery I had a hard hard night, I was heaving something awful and was sure I had hurt my little tummy. My swallow test the next morning showed everything was perfect! I've had no problem getting my liquids in. My only issue has been an intense heartburn that doesn't want to go away. I'm taking Pepcid daily per doc's instructions but I don't think it's doing much.

I am soooo happy to be on the other side now and can't wait to see the scale moving!

You may have to change PPI's. I took Prilosec pre surgery for my slipped lapbands severe reflux but my dr switched me to Pepcid post op. The 2nd week of surgery, my reflux was totally gone but I developed pretty bad heartburn. I switched myself back to my Prilosec and it's worked perfectly for the last 7 weeks.

Told my dr at my 4 week post op exam and he was fine with it. Whatever works. Not all meds work for everyone the same. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
